Fender MH-500 Metalhead review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Fender MH-500 Metalhead amp packs immense power with its 550-watt output and a wide array of effects that cater to metal enthusiasts. Its headroom and clean channel performance are commendable, delivering the quintessential Fender tone. However, the Tight Drive channel disappoints with a lack of sparkle, and the rotary controls for effects can be cumbersome. While the amp offers a lot for its price, including a sturdy footswitch and various effects, it falls short in tonal richness compared to all-valve counterparts. A mixed bag that may appeal more to those prioritizing volume and versatility over finesse.

the built in effects are good to have, also the XLR out is convenient ... but is sounds stiff and harsh ... if you play industrial metal that could be a good fit

Oddly good.

Cheap, discontinued amp. Surprisingly good for a low cost solid state.
