Looks good, but sounds better
Built in the early 60s, the Gibson Mercury Series delivers Fender like clean tones up to smooth overdrive with it's two 6L6 power tubes that bring about 40-50 Watts. Original they came with matching closed back 2x12 Speaker cabinets with a pair of vintage Utah 12" ceramic speakers, but not many are left and fewer can be found.

this is one of those amps that is just okay and has all the right parts in the wrong order.... many of the alrger, post-tweed gibsons (and some alrge tweeds) fall into this category. Like any tube amp its good at 10, but next to a blackface fender both set clean its just anemic. I don't knw what Gibson was thinking after the crestline series.
