Critic Reviews

Izotope Alloy 2

soundonsound.com

iZotope Alloy 2 impresses with its intuitive, well-organized interface and versatile processing modules, making it a compelling choice for those who favor a comprehensive mixing solution. The EQ and Dynamics modules shine with flexibility, while the Exciter stands out for its multi-band capabilities. However, its 'one plug-in to do everything' approach may not appeal to everyone, and some presets are overly aggressive. For users seeking a powerful, all-in-one mixing toolkit, Alloy 2 delivers excellent results with careful use.

tapeop.com

iZotope Alloy 2 is a robust "all-in-one" plugin that impresses with its flexibility and versatility, making it a serious contender for your primary mixing tool. Its range of modules, including EQs and compressors, deliver high-quality sound with ease of use, despite some minor UI quirks. The ability to shut off unused sections to save CPU power is a thoughtful feature. However, navigation could be more intuitive, as module reordering isn’t visually reflected in the interface. Despite these drawbacks, Alloy 2's deep feature set and presets make it a valuable asset in any mixing scenario, providing rich and polished results.

iZotope Alloy 2 Review - MusicTech

musictech.com

iZotope Alloy 2 is a sophisticated all-in-one mixing channel strip that excels with its refined features and intuitive design. The improved GUI and enhanced modules like the transient shaper and dynamics offer excellent visual feedback, making mixing decisions easier. While the de-esser remains basic and the absence of a reverb module is noted, the plugin's low CPU usage and versatile sound-shaping capabilities stand out. With a reasonable upgrade path, Alloy 2 presents a high-quality, digital/analogue modeled mixing toolbox that's both efficient and effective, earning high praise for its functionality and ease of use.

iZotope Alloy 2 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

iZotope Alloy 2 impresses with its futuristic channel strip design and superb sound quality. Its vast processing capabilities and excellent transient shaper stand out, offering great flexibility and ease of use. However, the absence of a linear phase EQ and limited module presets could be improved. Despite these minor drawbacks, Alloy 2 is a valuable addition for anyone looking to enhance their mixing workflow, making it a highly recommended choice for modern producers.

This is my go to channel strip plugin. Very usable, very quick workflow, nice results. Leaves you with no time wasted. Maybe the best plugin in it's category. It is worth every cent you pay for.

The Complete Package

Very complete mixing plugin, and it sounds great. Distortion is a bit over the top and didn't necessarily do what I expected, but I can see it's purpose and I look forward to using it a lot.
