"We used Decapitator for a lot of the distortion, and we used Devil-Loc. And then a lot of the stuff I’m just running back out and re-amping." "And then, EchoBoy… a lot of stuff on there, especially the Memory Man [style]. I think it’s my favorite echo, even though I own a Memory Man and a Space Station and all those, [EchoBoy] is kind of my go to reverb. Just the way that it affects the delays is really interesting and really inspiring for me. I’ll usually put that after the reverb on the Virus so it’s actually sampling the reverb tail and echoing that as opposed to the dry signal alone. We’ve experimented with running a plate reverb through EchoBoy and it was really fun."more
“An installation of the Soundtoys bundle is the first, mandatory step I take on all the platforms I use. Composing in Maschine or Live, performing live with Mainstage, or recording with Pro Tools… for every stage I rely on the incredibly useful, musical and inspiring tools Soundtoys provides. FilterFreak, EchoBoy and Decapitator are all over Hesitation Marks and used live throughout the TENSION 2013 tour.” - via [soundtoys.com](http://www.soundtoys.com/artists/trent-reznor/)more
Jody talks about his use of SoundToys plugins in [this article](http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/jody-wisternoffs-favourite-music-software-554186/5), saying, "This is so obvious, but it’s the truth! These are evolved versions of some of my favourite old Pro Tools plugs - it’s the same company but they were under a different name [WaveMechanics]."more
"FabFilter EQs, in fact the whole FabFilter suite sounds incredible - there's not a session that doesn't have a ton of Fab Filter Pro-Q2s and Simplons on it. Soundtoys also makes great sounding plugins that can really destroy or sweeten your sound, and they're all over my productions."more
(about "Asymmetry Codex") "Arrangement & Mixing" "After all the patterns and stems were recorded to audio, I arranged them into Pro Tools. All of the editing was done with dozens of plug-ins including: Valhalla DSP, INA-GRM, Sound Toys, Izotope, Soundhack, UAD and a few Richard told me to keep under wraps."more
> Ableton is my playground – I can’t spend hours on it as some other could spend hours on video games. I’m addicted in a way. **I love Soundtoys products**, all of them, great effects plug in. I like to make some sequences on Zebra or Omnisphere, both of them have a good « analogic vibe ». I really more into the « computer » thing than hardware stuffs.more
These plugins all sound like dust was ran through them. Different sorts of dust and clay and shit you'd never want caught in your shoes.
Wtf am I talking about.....
oh yeah. These plugs. Amazing delays. Echoboy should be called EchoPimp instead. You will experience anger however; anger that you bought all these other delays before it. Because this shit does everything.... nicely. I've started whole tracks based on the rhythm this delay puts on a simple sound.
Almost all those plugs are up to that quality. Check demos or die.
Adding in harmonics to multiple instruments. Really unique feature you cannot get with stock DAW's. Still have not used others in a production, but will soon experiment and update as soon as possible.
Whereas Voxengo helps me with my mixing, I turn to other plugins for my effects and this is where the Soundtoys bundle plays a huge part! Echoboy is the best darn Delay plugin and the effects as a whole sound fantastic! It won't cover ALL of your bases, but it will cover almost all of them alone and sound great too! definitely check it out! :D
