THE BEST SOFTWARE SAMPLER OUT THERE
I'm sure there will be detractors from the upper echelon geeks but I don't know anyone who doesn't use this sampler. Even the hardcore Logicheads... [myself included]. Easy to use yet infinite miles down the rabbit hole if thats where you want to drive this puppy, not to mention infinite sound libraries from everyone and their mother who is a tapehead. Can't live/produce without it. Glad I don't.

My go-to sampler
Very capable, but the scripting language sucks damp tritones. And you have to have an in with NI to package anything nicely. The new debugging tools are inadequate. But mostly, it gets the job done and is a platform that is widely adapted.

It's pretty much mandatory!
I don't know where I'd be without Kontakt and I think it's fair to say the same about most of us! while I've used other samplers before in the past, none of them have been as reliable as Kontakt. Companies also seem to recognize that and Kontakt has become essentially the de-facto sampler!
It's here that I load up tons and tons of sample libraries, many of which are orchestral or cinematic. It's a critical piece of my music-making and I just don't know where I'd be without it!

I have more than I use.
Kontakt 5 is a very good sampler, but sadly, I only use it for Studio Drummer. I make a lot of Dubstep/Brostep/Big Room/Deep House, and I use it for the snare rolls I can make in Studio Drummer, but I have so much stuff for it that I don't use. It depends what you make. You can try it out yourself and see. I still like it, I just don't use it a lot.

versatile player for organic sound layering at a premium price
This is an amazing player. It allows me to use a variety of organic instruments and sounds that I've purchased online. It allows you to play more than one instrument per note which makes for on-the-go musical layering. For 400$, you can't go wrong with it! Although I did find it expensive initially. But that comes with becoming a producer, you must invest invest invest!

Industry Standard
Been Using It For 2 Week Already. To Put It Simple..... I Should Have Use It A Long Time Ago Because Kontakt Is A Beast. Masterpiece Sound And Wide Range Of Library. Best Part Is That I Can Save The Library On An External Drive

Insane
This is actually the most complete sampler you will find in 2015. What I like is the fluidity and the somplicity, which makes you able to achieve fantastic things in less than a minute.

Your tracks cover so much ground; they’re dynamic both in the material and in the production. Even down to the fine details, such as the string machine pad at the end of “Equinox.”
"Kontakt, baby! I am like a Native Instruments commercial. Their samples are great. Those strings are one-shot audio samples. Just little bits in an extended line you can bring in as sample players or in audio and crossfade and do different things to extend them longer if you want to build pads."
Avicii shows "Future Music Magazine" team how he actually works and at minute 24:50 you can see him using Kontakt 4
Pause around 1:34 and you can see zedd's screen and it says kontakt in the working sample.
At the 30:12 mark in 'Nicky Romero Making Toulouse In The Studio With Future Music': "Anyway I have, like, string plugs... which are from Kontakt, because they always have, like, the nice sounding stuff."
Alesso mentions using drum kits from Kontakt, particularly in the making of his track "Years".
According to this reddit thread:
I have no idea if anyone has said anything about this before or if he himself has mentioned it, but the sample at the beginning of "Divinity" is from a Kontakt sample called HandySound from the factory library in Electronic Toys.
In the thread, a sound clip of the HandySound sample is included.
When asked if he uses a drum sampler or drags audio straight into his DAW, Rob Swire (of Knife Party) says that it depends. He mostly goes the audio route, but occasionally uses Kontakt if he needs to heavily manipulate samples.
In this article, there is a photo of Flume's screen running Abelton live, and track 47 indicates that he uses Kontakt 5.
in the video called The Making Of O.D. on his youtube chanel there is a track called Kontakt and he brings the plugin up later for a second
Laidback Luke posts a photo to Instagram (Jan 2015) of an Ableton Live DAW session, with Native Instruments Kontakt Sampler open in the top left corner of the screen. He says, "I know I don't post it often but I still enjoy this view on a daily bases! #Studio #Ableton #Kontakt"
The instrument he has selected is Big Fish Audio Electri6ity.
