Turntablism? Trash mostly. Mixing? Pretty good.

If you're a turntablist, it's near impossible to use this. Worst things first, there's no reverse setting. So scratching? Unless you can scratch without reverse, consider the most important element in DJing impossible to perform (if you are trying to do anything slightly technical that is. Basic BASIC scratching is performable). Beat juggling is fine, though. Doing mixes? It's pretty good. Since mixing and transitioning between records doesn't require much technicality crossfader-wise, it's no biggie. You can fade in and out, focus on one turntable, the works. So if you're just doing live mixes and you're on a VERY TIGHT budget, you should check this out. Now for some minor irks. I hate how the headphone and microphone ports are to the left and right respectively of the crossfader. It makes beat juggling even tougher when you have the mic and headphones plugged in. And for some reason, when I turn Talkover off, it distorts and compresses the volume to an ungodly and ear-shattering level, and there's no way to fix it. At least, I haven't tried to fix it because I always hit it on accident and get too startled to focus on trying to fix it before my speakers explode. Overall, it's what you pay for. Shell out $50 for a mixer? You get issues. I always learn this lesson the hard way, so I hope you don't. If you want to do turntable tricks, don't bother with this thing. If you just mix and you need something to hold you over until you can get a better mixer, this might do the trick. Plus it has microphone talkover and MP3 compatibilty, so that's good.
