REVIEW: Akai Professional AMX Controller – DJWORX

djworx.com

The Akai Professional AMX offers a portable solution for Serato DJs with its DVS functionality and impressive post-fader effects. Its capacitive knobs and scratch-capable crossfader add versatility. However, the awkwardly placed shift button and convoluted beatmatching controls can frustrate, especially for turntablists. While it shines with external inputs and sound quality, manual beatmatching is a challenge without additional gear. Overall, it's a solid choice for DJs seeking portability and digital flexibility, albeit with a few quirks to navigate.

Akai Pro AMX Controller Review - Digital DJ Tips

digitaldjtips.com

The Akai Pro AMX is a game-changer for Serato DJs, offering a compact, feature-rich setup at an unbeatable price point. This USB-powered controller unlocks Serato's potential on-the-go, making it ideal for mobile mixing. Its standout features include a built-in audio interface, DVS compatibility, and a responsive Mini Innofader. While the pitch control could use refinement, and it lacks standalone mixer capability, the AMX excels in portability and functionality. Its ability to serve as the heart of a cost-effective DVS system, combined with its travel-friendly design, makes it a must-have. Perfect for both on-the-go mixing and as a modular DVS enabler, its few shortcomings are far from deal-breakers.

Decent Dj controller and interface

I did quite a few gigs with this before upgrading to a bigger controller and this little device is very capable. it was my ticket into time coded vinyl

whogotdrumz

Aight lil box, considering the price.

Nice little beginner device, for someone who's just messing about trying to learn Serato. Definitely has its flaws and quirks, but for the price, its not half bad.
