Value and pricing

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The YPT-240 can be recorded via its headphone jack into a computer's line-in, though users note this may lower audio quality compared to using an audio interface.

    Source
  • The YPT-240 lacks velocity-sensitive keys, a factor which may impact the expressiveness for advanced learners compared to models like the Casio CTK-3500.

Yamaha YPT-240 review | Digital Piano Review Guide

digitalpianoreviewguide.com

The Yamaha YPT-240 is a budget-friendly entry-level keyboard ideal for beginners. It offers a lightweight, portable design with 61 keys, basic sound features, and a range of voices for experimentation. While it provides a decent introduction to digital pianos, its non-weighted keys and basic sound engine may not satisfy more advanced players. A downside is the lack of included accessories like an adapter or stand, which could add to the overall cost. If you're starting out and need an affordable, portable option, the YPT-240 fits the bill, but be prepared for some additional purchases.

Practice Keyboard

My parents got this for me one Christmas when I had mentioned to them that I wanted to learn how to play piano. It truly is a great beginner piano. I still play it sometimes when I wanna mess around with some chords. It has a pretty robust sound editing system, so you can make the standard grand piano patch sound more realistic with some simple programming.

Cheap and Simple

It is a cheap and reliable keyboard that can be used as a MIDI controller. The keys are smooth to touch with moderate spacing in between them. A metronome is included. It's meant to be used as a beginner's keyboard but the simplicity of it could help people to keep track on other things rather than the keyboards itself. I'm pleased to use it as a start of my journey into the world of music. Cheers!
