"On this latest album I use a custom made Fuzz Throne pedal by Dunwich Amplification. It’s a bit like a Fuzz Face clone but with an extra gain stage to drive the amp really hard. That plus my late 70's Matamp GT120 and I have the perfect match"

"On Monnos I used a Rat clone and a modded Boss Blues Driver but both on separate amps – this might explain a slightly clearer tone on the new album."

In an interview with Jon Davis on 'The Sleeping Shamen.com', Jon says: Amps – My main rig up until recording was an old MatAmp, a GT120 into a Soundcity and an Orange 4×12. My other amplifier is a 70’s Orange, 120 again, almost exactly the same amp really. Into… well for a while there I had two 4x12s, I bought a Matamp 2×15, like a tall fronted cab, and I ran the Orange into that. But I’m changing the set up at the moment; I just sold the Orange amplifier, I’ve sold the Matamp 2×15 and I’ve sold the Orange 4×12. So now what I’m going to be running is a 6×12 custom made and I’m having a 4×15 custom made. So I’m going to run the Matamp into the 6×12 and I’ve got a Soundcity 200w bass head, and I’m going to use that to run the 4×15. So that’s about it

JON DAVIS OF CONAN “I’ve been using some excellent vintage amps for several years, including some old Orange heads. I wanted to buy some modern amps that give me the tone and warmth of the vintage heads I have become accustomed to. I’ve used several modern Orange heads at festivals and these have included the Thunderverb 200, the OR50 and OR100. I was initially curious about the sound and then became pretty much hooked on them. They have all the warmth of the older amps I like, but none of the reliability issues.”

Current live rig. Fuzz Throne into Small stone phaser (set on a fast cycle) into a Jerry Cantrell wah, into a rehoused green Sovtek Small Stone phaser, modded for a super slow sweep by @moose_electronics , into a @bossinfoglobal RE-201 Space Echo. I switched to a @pedaltrain board from the very awesome @rolfpedalboards boards, for a slightly wider platform that was a tiny bit lighter. All in a photographer’s Alpine Lowe backpack as recommended by our very handsome friend Chris Couzens (@slomatics )
