In a DJ set featured on SLAM! Music's YouTube channel, Laidback Luke demonstrates the Denon DJ Prime 4, highlighting its versatility as both a standalone system and a controller, effectively combining the functionality of four SC5000 units and an X1800 mixer.

While Laidback Luke doesn't talk much about using studio monitors (he prefers to produce using headphones), he mentions the Genelec 8030s are his favorites.

"Believe it or not I produce and master everything on Beats Studio by Dre."

Laidback Luke uses the T-RackS classic limiter in his mastering chain.

In the YouTube video by Point Blank Music School titled "Laidback Luke: Creating a Track in Ableton Live (Dancefair Ibiza 2014)," Laidback Luke uses the KV331 Audio SynthMaster Software Synthesizer at 4:45 while selecting plugins in Ableton Live.

Laidback Luke uses the Sennheiser HD 600 Headphones for mixing, mastering, and production, as seen in his Instagram post promoting the "Keep On Rockin'" remix contest.

Laidback Luke uses the FabFilter Pro-L Limiter on his master channel. He tweets "I only use the @FabFilter Pro-L on my master for mashups. When I make edits in @ableton it doesn't degrade."

He recommends this plugin several times, again saying "Try and use the Fabfilter Pro-L limiter instead [of the stock Ableton one]. That's a very clean and clear limiter."

When a fan asked him "the basics of making a small studio," Laidback Luke mentioned the E-Mu Xboard 49 MIDI Controller.

Laidback Luke was asked "I can't seem to get the sub bass to really rumble. How do you tweak your bass so there's rumble and you can hear its notes?" He replied "Try the plugin called Sub Boom Bass by Rob Paapen. You'll need to have proper low end in your sound to EQ it right."

Laidback Luke used FL Studio to produce his tracks, before moving over to Ableton. He tweets "Break Down The House was made in FL Studio. It's a great program but can't deal with Windows anymore. I use @Ableton now"

When asked what sound card he would recommend for a beginner, Laidback Luke tweeted, "@zaid1415 I'm currently using the Apogee One, it's portable, affordable and high def sound!"

In this post from Splice.com, Laidback Luke shows us his work on "Stepping To The Beat". On the right hand side you can see that Laidback Luke uses the FM8 plugin, which is one of 12 plugins he uses.

Throat Evo by AVOX is listed as one of the plugins used in the making of Stepping To The Beat

The instrument he has selected is Big Fish Audio Electri6ity.

"People never see me DJ with this. That's because I only produce with this."

The headphones aren't mentioned by name, but are shown at 1:33 in the linked video. It's clear they are Stanton DJ Pro-2000s.

Laidback Luke uses Ableton Live software to produce his tracks, edits, mashups, and remixes. He frequently recommends this DAW to producers of all skill levels. He tweets "I do everything in @Ableton and would always recommend it."

When asked to choose between Traktor S4 and the Pioneer DDJ-SX, Laidback Luke recommends the DDJ-SX, since he himself uses Pioneer gear to DJ.
