one trick pony that sometimes does his trick, but it's a decent enough trick. you'll get what you pay for and yr not going to pay for much to get this beastie. It can't behave in a professional manner and it's glitchy as all mayhem... but that's it's charm? I've had mine for a while it seems, just a memento from a past life that really I should leave behind. Make sure you use the neck pickup and a great compressor helps, but tracking will most likely always be a pain.
A strange one, indeed. BOSS was obviously looking to attract a niche crowd with this distortion pedal that incorporates two different circuits. Circuit one is pretty much a stock analog distortion while circuit two provides an additional five (FIVE!) different non-modes for doubling and chorus effects coming from newly discovered digital planets.
Doubling one: REALLY REALLY short delay for an almost slap back echo
Doubling two: REALLY Short delay for an almost slap back echo, the mode I use second most
because I really seems to be the sweet spot and hit what the developers were trying?
Doubling Three: Short Delay for short slapback-esque sound
Chorus one: Light Chorus (this was made in the eighties, right?)
Chorus two: Light Flange. To my ears this just sounds too good to not use this one the most.
This pedal is ALOT of FUN to play! one is able to create all sorts of aquanet sounds from this monster and it's a BOSS, so it'll be around forever...and all of your friends will laugh at you once you tell them the name...Digital Metalizer, by BOSS?!?
I tried to become best friends with this gal for almost a month. I took her out shopping, wine and dined her and treated like a real lady. Good Grief, she's a tempermental monster! Really has two settings, too much or too little. I tried my hardest, I really did! But, a man can only handle so much! I ended up returning her but I'll always have the memories of how she would muck up my mix, make my other friends seem to not really be as great as they can, and never behave how I want her to.
Maybe one of the most unsung heroines in today's world of analog obsessed tone hounds dishing $300+ for the latest and greatest and warmest delays out there. She's a BOSS and built to last. She can make yr other delays sound better with her pristine sound quality and theres just enough strangeness you can conjure. One of the BEST reverse modes out there is just icing on the DD7 cake.
This unassuming little box can take you places! They may not be places you'd ever imagine you would go, but it's slwys easy to find a nice ans safe happy zone if you get too weird
The Bell Like clarity of this guitar sings out in a crisp manner evoking thin tidal waves of pure aural delight
I purchased this guitar practically brand new in the martian landscape that is Southern Utah from one of the wily guitar shops wayyyyyy back in the day. Interestingly-ish enough: There actually wasn't any authorized Gibson dealers in my humble home town so I had to wait and wait and wait for this puppy to spring up. The action is great, she has a neck one can really sink thier hands into and it's Gibson Quality. Les Paul Studios have always been my weapon of choice because of the amazing price point and loaded features. Perfect for players on any budget or Talent Level.
It's small and cheap and it does it's job. MUCH LOUDER than you would be led to belive, it's one sheet that details how great it is for avoiding the neighbors calling the cops on you while you crank it up is a LIE! Bot it's still good, and has a decent little overdriven sound.
