Finished product. Everything except the two smaller distortions are quite valuable to me, but they all had to be tweaked at such a level until they can all be independent, and somewhat, good sounding tones.
The Blackstar has a boost, I use it somewhat clean, just a tiny bit of dirt. The little green pedal has more dirt, and the Metal Zone + Distortion side of the Blackstar are two different distortions.
My prize and joy is the reverb... love that thing. For $120 brand new, it was a fantastic buy. Now, that guitar... just need that job, still working on getting one. New guitar is first priority, and I have all the information I need to buy one.

Kinda reminds me of people who see you trying to set a better tone to your pedal, and when you test it out, they trash it.
I'm moving knobs, quit it, guys. I know the distortion sounds like crap, but that's what happens when knobs get moved. They make different noises, and they won't always appeal, but obviously I'm busy trying to find a good sound and your arse doesn't help.
But Nick is right, though it's never happened to me. Frankly, why would someone waste time looking for a model number when they can review the product?
IT WORKS GREAT!
Sigh

I could never stand to listen to those, my ear's trained to individual instruments playing music rather than those massive groups...
11yalmost 11 years ago
Just a bit late. I already got the velcro, cleaned up the steel and arranged it all.
If you're wondering, there's two distortions, one overdrive, one boost, a tremolo/reverb hybrid, a super reverb, and a chorus pedal. Includes tuner and Ernie Ball volume pedal.

Also, did Jimmy quote himself? ;)
He does this a lot, very strange...

In the same way that all of western philosophy can be looked at as a response to Plato, all of American music is a response to the blues. My work here is done.

The image on there is incorrect to begin with, and if one were to do their research, one might find the proper model quite easily on the Fender website.
They're not just Fender Telecasters, they're Fender American Strats ad such, they have model names.
However, I agree some might be unidentifiable, so I agree with the first photo, that is the average for telecasters.

Can anyone help me name all the big muffs
So what is the Hold function for? and does anyone use it?
Just watch Andy demonstrate here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVuERF9T474
I knew a guy in a Bauhaus/Neubauten influenced noise band who played more music manipulating the parameters on his Boss delay in hold mode than he actually ever made plucking strings and fretting! Its good for making ambient textures out of tiny audio loops. I have little interest in those kind of techniques, why not just play a synthesizer then? But to each his own. I am not sure if that's what Boss intended the hold feature on those small format delays to be used for, but its the way I've seen it used by the one guy I've seen use it.
That's actually quite brilliant, I'll be sure to try that out when I get a Giga Delay. Also, why use a synth when you can do the same and more with a guitar?
11yalmost 11 years ago
I don't know how to respond to this without going on a rant.
Jim or Nick, help me out here, I know the answer is "music has evolved", but my head'll explode if I keep typing, and I don't want to be an arse.

Dammit, how did this go unnoticed!?
Corporal, your piece of crap post doesn't count for biggest post because that's spam. Sorry, but amac1367 still holds the title.
Also, would you kindly explain this if you're still alive?

what about the copyrights of the pictures? Do I have to upload CC or public domain pictures of the artists?
Short answer...
No.

I don't think there's a special hidden prize or anything like that. I believe it's only a way of keeping record of how much a person has collaborated in the site, be it by reviews or by submissions. In a way there's also this social recognition and reward, because if you have lots of GearIQ points it means that you've collaborated a lot which in turn means that you know a little bit about guitars, pedals, gear, etc. Other than that... I think that's pretty much it.
Pretty much what he just said is correct.

Not really, OP seems to have left as well. I;ll consider your reply valid if he actually decides to say something.

Can anyone help me name all the big muffs
By appealing, do you mean sexy artwork? or sounds like a decent pedal? Because all the Red Witch pedals have attractive lady artwork ...
Well I was thinking sonically, but in terms of artwork, you'd be correct. Red Witch at least gives Violetta a personality, along with her younger and less mature self, Violet.

Because DD-20.
Anyone heard of those Red Witch pedals? Violetta seems really appealing.

Fun with pedal boards!
http://i.imgur.com/qRnoHLu.jpg
Here are the majority of my pedals that I would use live. Everything except the ES-9 and the MT-2 are a necessity. Still need to buy velcro and such. Until then, I have a good chance to try out new ways to order the board. Feel free to make suggestions!

Can we all just stop and ask why we're doing this? OP obviously hasn't said anything about the subject, it kind of bothers me.

Gotta go pick up my Pedaltrain from Hollywood Guitar Centre :D
I'll be back, expect a new thread soon.

I am excited about all this customization talk. I am DEFINITELY buying some cables. Since there are no private messages on Equipboard, I don't see a conflict of interest providing my email address ... nick [at] nickedelstein [dot] com. Jacks in the pedaltrain is a brilliant idea BTW but since I don't have that kind of a board, I'm sticking to cables for now.
There's plenty of modifications you can make on a Pedaltrain due to its simplicity. The company even makes mounting brackets for the Pedal Power 2+. I see people mounting pegs for height, installing input jacks, Even securing the cables in this wonderful and orderly fashion.
Unfortunately, I'll do it myself, Jim. My dad has plenty of tools for the job, and I'd rather do something myself if I know I have the ability and tools to do so rather than spending money and taking the easy route.
11yalmost 11 years ago
Jacks, eh?
Is it possibke to drill a hole into a particular used Pedaltrain-1 and install four of those for input, output, send, and return while still making it look extremely clean and OCD friendly?
Because I think I might do that.

System was reworked to fix this. Basically, you get GearIQ for submissions, but you still have to wait and get it approved. I imagine that if your submission wasn't up to par, your GearIQ lowers.
Trust the EB team.

Kinda reminds me of this: http://www.amazon.com/DAngelico-Jazz-Pedal-by-Pigtronix/dp/B00CD4WB3U
I actually kind of want this pedal, it's like a Swiss Music Knife. You got your boost and compression, an FX loop, and a line out. I would love that, but I would rather use an actual amplifier line out.
Jim, would you ever be caught with one of those D'Angelico pedals?
11yalmost 11 years ago
Haha, damn right about that. Still, a cable for $9 just seems a bit iffy. I guess all that used gear has been getting to me. You expect something after watching videos and reviews, you get it, and suddenly you realise the speed of the spring is too slow and you can't do crap because you bought it used.
Thank you, VHT Amps, your tremolo on your Melo-Verb pedal is pretty good, but your 'verb is too slow. Sounds nothing like a good Fender reverb.

GIVEAWAY: Sennheiser HD 25 Headphones (August Submissions)
http://equipboard.com/pros/diana-ross
You, sir, have impeccable taste.
Anyways, go to the above link and there is her page. What yo do from there is simply to find sources such as pictures, videos, interviews, etc where Diana Ross or anyone trustworthy (such as people who work with her) will give proof that certain gear were used in studio or live to produce music.
Think images of her holding a recognisable microphone and such. Once finding a good source, go to this page and click "Improve This Page" at the top right corner. Enter in the gear that she's seen using, paste the source URL in the second box, and give a description for this submission. There are plenty of examples for any artist on this site.
Also, if the gear isn't there, You'll have to submit that yourself. Find a picture, get the FULL name of the gear, then categorise it.

that's pretty cheap! come back with a report....
When I test them out, I'll give that report.

Lucky, my starter cable were a bunch of funky looking Roland Cables. Got a yellow one that doesn't twist well, a black one that's really weak, acts like a string, and a few shorter ones.
They're old, and something tells me I should buy new cables.
On a side note, and very slight derail of thread, take a look at this: https://reverb.com/item/123175-reverb-20-foot-1-4-guitar-cable-orange-limit-1
For $9, it's deceptive, but I trust Reverb.com. Fairly new product.
