"I've known Floris, one of the big guys behind FabFilter, for a very long time. We even did some tracks together in the past! When I heard he was involved in making his own plug-ins, I was immediately interested and followed him since. It's fantastic to see the company being so successful today. I like all FabFilter plug-ins and I've used all of them in my tracks."

Find it on:

"I made some pads. There are some really greta pad sounds coming form the Nexus. This particular pad is one I edited from one of the presets."

In this article from beatportal Armin says "Ordinarily, I use rekordbox to prepare my tracks for the Pioneer CDJ2000s I play on and it keeps count of the number of plays in my sets of each track".

Find it on:

"The Omnisphere I usually use for pads, breakdowns, or strings, or more of atmospheric things, but there are some really great baseline sounds in the Omnisphere. There's a great Arpeggio section in the Omnisphere."

Find it on:

"So for this particular lead I went into the Zebra plugin, but I stacked it with a few other plugins."

Armin speaks highly of the FabFilter Twin software synth, calling it very "unique".

The kick is such an important part of dance music. How do you craft yours?

I recently got into the Xfer Nerve software drum machine, which lets you combine sounds to make your own kick drum. Usually, we take the top of an existing kick drum and add our own low end, which is often just a synth filling out the oomph that we need. Then we put a compressor on there to make the kick drum more snappy, to help it blend, and to make the sound whole.
