In an Instagram photo, Wolfgang Gartner talks about using Pioneer's Rekordbox software to tweak a setlist. The photo shows him working in Rekordbox on his MacBook, with a USB drive plugged into the laptop: "last minute tweaking in Rekordbox after seeing how crazy the crowd was. Big guns were necessary."more
I really hate this very poorly written software, but once you've got it figured out it's a charm to work with well organized SD cards
It's just for analysis, prep and organization. I don't use itunes anymore and even though I'm a Traktor fan boi I still HATE the track prep in it... It's super solid and I may update to Rekordbox DJ to give it a try one day
Sure Serato is nice, and Traktor super powerful, but if want to just JAM and not worry about anything strange happening Rekordbox with Pioneer gear is easily the most robust platform out there. No doubt Pioneer has the most stage presence anywhere in the world and it shows in the refinement and simplicity of Rekordbox. I dont need a degree in sound engineering to appreciate the complexity of this software. My only (small) complaint is that it has a proprietary timecode signal that doesn't play nice with other hardware. It puts Pioneer gear on a pedestal and I dont like that.
