Bassnectar's Gear
60 Works has built this custom controller for Bassnectar. He uses two of these in his live setup. He pairs it with ill.Gate's modified DeeJayus Ex Machina template for Trigger Finger.

Bassnectar's go-to software synth. He uses a sin wave from Massive to do his sub bass (he also makes sure to keep in in mono, and duck it from the kick and snare).
For a quick mastering fix, Bassnectar turns to the VintageWarmer. "If I’m going to drop a track in three hours, I’ll use PSP Vintage Warmer or a Waves L2 Ultramaximizer..."

In the music video for "Blast Off," Bassnectar can be seen using the Allen & Heath Xone:92 6 Channel DJ Mixer, which he employed for live performances before switching to the Pioneer DJM-900.
Before making the switch to Ableton Live for producing, Bassnectar was ReWiring Reason into Cubase. He says, "...that was really the breaking point for me, being able to have everything in one piece of software. That’s where I first simplified and felt a lot of liberation by confining myself to that one program. My friends using Logic would always tease me that my stuff was too low-fi, but I just had fun doing it. I loved hitting the tab button all day, looking at the wires shake; it was just inspiring to me, being able to make things quickly manifest."
In a tweet, Bassnectar lists u-he's Ace as one of his top plugins.
Bassnectar's answer to what VSTs he uses most often: "ohmicide camelphat massive gladiator albino subboombass absynth (& my mastering engineer is all about OXFORD)"

Bassnectar uses a CDJ in his live show purely for backup purposes. In an Instagram post he explains, "the CDJ is for ultimate bombproof triple degree backup. Like at Summer Camp years ago when I jumped around so hard my table collapsed. CDJ saved the day. I had 'Seek&Destroy' cued up on it @ Ultra ;)"
"God I love love love these. So perfect for producing on the road"
Bassnectar shows off his "Bassnectar Labs on tha road," consisting of his MacBook Pro running Ableton, and his Bose QuietComfort 15 Headphones.

"I used the PSP Vintage Warmer and The Waves L2 to hack-master "Blow" back in the day :)"

Bassnectar relies on the Mackie HR824s to give him an accurate representation of his tracks: "I mix on Mackie HR824s, first mixing the kick and snares, focusing around 110 to 120Hz and making them as loud as I can stand, then working with the hat, keeping it bright, then putting in the sub before I mix everything else up as quiet as I can keep them. Then I offer it to the mastering engineer with a kind of limited sound mix: kick, sub, snare, and the rest of the track."
When asked what VSTs he finds himself using most often, Bassnectar includes CamelPhat in the list.
