Buckethead's Gear
"In the track “Jowls” [from Monsters and Robots], the “chandelier” scrape at the beginning of the song is achieved with the trusty Roland SE-50 set to produce two pitches descending and two pitches ascending, thus creating the sound of four minor seconds. No delay was used, the level of harmony was 100 percent on each note, and the volume levels of the actual note and the processed harmonies were equal. Save me the slunk!"
In the YouTube video "Buckethead Soothsayer Live," Buckethead is seen using a Marshall JCM900 amplifier. While the specific model isn't confirmed, the amplifier resembles the JCM900 4100 100-watt 2-channel Tube Head.

He used my 1968 Les Paul and my brother's black Telecaster.
Buckethead wears a KFC bucket on his head because he wanted to be different. He was eating deli chicken with his dad one night and as he was taking out the bucket he put it on and went to the mirror and said "Buckethead. That's Buckethead right there" and thats where it all started. The KFC endorsement didn't start until later in his career. The specific model he wore was a 1993 KFC Bucket, he now has them custom made.

In a YouTube video by Hector Aguila titled "Buckethead's pedalboard," Buckethead can be seen using the DigiTech WH-4 Whammy (4th Gen). I attended a recent show in Baltimore, MD, where I was in the front row and noticed this pedal prominently on his setup. As a user of the same model, I recognized the distinctive grip and design, confirming its presence on his pedalboard.
I saw buckethead back in April of 2018, and he was using one Hi-Watt 4x12 and one EVH 4x12. Usally he uses 1 marshall and 1 Hi-watt but for this show, for some reason, he had an EVH. It didn’t have a mic on it, I only saw a mic in front of the Hi-Watt, I think he uses the second amp for stage volume. There aren’t any videos of him using an EVH so I think it was backline at the venue and he was unable to use the regular Marshall like usual.
His signature Gibson had 496R and 500T.
