Dave Knudson's Gear
At 20:33 of this "Rig Rundown" with Premier Guitar, Dave shows us his PRS Custom 24 sand says "Yeah, Custom 24. I've had this for a few years. They were nice enough to give it to me about 3 years ago. I just love PRS's neck, super fast. Plays great, low action for the tapping... I've started using the coil tap a ton. Which is how the sound for 'Steel And Blood' Is Created."
Dave confirms at 10:03 in this video that he uses four Line 6 DL4s: Two dedicated for looping; one for delay only; and one for both delay and looping.
Dave talks about his Fender Jaguar Baritone at 22:40 in this rig rundown video. It's tuned in standard B baritone tuning, and predominantly uses the bridge pickup. He says, "Just the fact of adding the low B string just makes it sound so super heavy and it just adds a really cool groove to the song."
Dave says, at 17:50 in this video, "I do have an Electro Harmonix Hog that I'd love to bring on tour but it just takes up so much room...so I've been using this M5 to kind of recreate some of those sounds."
Dave mentions at 18:10 that he uses a Line 6 M5 to recreate some of the synthesiser sounds he would usually get with his HOG.
Around 18:26 in this video, Dave mentions his Zvex Box of Rock, saying, "Of non-sampling pedals it's probably my favorite pedal. I just love the clean boost. It adds sparkle to both my amps."
"One of those old-school Roland tape echoes, but I keep that in the studio. I also use a Boss Giga Delay."

At 19:28, Dave mentions his Boss CS-3, and says that he uses it to reduce the level of his output so that he can quietly record samples between songs during the live set.
Dave uses this for the song My Time. He says, at 26:55, "This is a Japanese synthesizer...I got it on Ebay."
Dave mentions at 13:20 that he uses two of these units to store samples that would be otherwise difficult to recreate in a live situation.
"When I was in Botch [Knudson’s previous hardcore band], I had a stereo rig that was a Peavey 5150 4x12 on one side and a Dual Rectifier 4x12 on the other."
At 21:32, "This is a Gold Top McCarty, I bought this one probably 6 months before the band started... This is my first PRS I've ever had" -Dave Knudson on Premier Guitar Rig Rundown.
Dave mentions at 18:47 in this rig rundown video that he has been using a Barber Tone Press Parallel Compressor for six or seven years to help "even out the tapping".
At 24:52 in this rig rundown video, Dave talks about his dual amp setup. Then at 25:32 he mentions that one of the amps is a 2x12 Mesa Boogie. It uses 6L6 power tubes and is run at 50 watts.
An Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer pedal can be seen on Dave's board at 19:51 in this rig rundown video.
"The Strymon BlueSky Reverberator is another pedal that is amazing. It made it on to a couple of overdubs. It’s not on all the time—I use it when I need a more extreme reverb sound."
"When I was in Botch [Knudson’s previous hardcore band], I had a stereo rig that was a Peavey 5150 4x12 on one side and a Dual Rectifier 4x12 on the other."
According to the Premier Guitar interview, Knudson uses the Dunlop Tortex 0.60 mm guitar picks.
