Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein's Gear
In this rig rundown (5:15) from premier guitar in 2013, Doyle says he has been using svt heads since his buddy suggested it a long time in The misfits, danzig and his solo project because "it has so much bottom in it", "I dont like mid range, I want The bottom and the High end, i wanna feel it" he's definitely not a marshall guy.
FYI: The original SVT heads from the 1970's were 2-channel, general-purpose amps with a "bass" channel and "normal" channel for guitar or keys, ect... and did not have an FX loop. I read somewhere that Doyle used an MXR Distortion + like many players did then, and more recently, a Demeter tube preamp through a modern SVT head's FX loop return to slave the power section only. Not an easy rig to mic up or record in a studio.
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein is seen playing an Oktober Annihilator Electric Guitar in a photo from Wacken Open Air 2013. This guitar is modeled after the custom graphite guitars he builds at home.
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein is shown using the Ibanez Iceman Electric Guitar during the Misfits' early Danzig years in the Premier Guitar Rig Rundown on YouTube. This guitar contributed to the distinctive sound of tracks like "American Nightmare," contrasting with the tone he achieved later with his Annihilator guitar.
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein is seen playing a Gibson Les Paul, as shown in a photo from the early Misfits era. This image, curated by Soma Iscariott on Pinterest, highlights his use of this iconic guitar model during his time with the band.
There are clear photos on the web of Doyle with this guitar. A black Les Paul Special with humbuckers.
On his Instagram, Doyle posted a photo of his new Fender Acoustasonic which he had just received. Heβs posted several photos of it since then.
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein uses the Ampeg Classic Series 8x10" Cabinet, known as the "refrigerator" cab, by customizing it with his own speakers and electronics. This is evident in a video by MPRFilms1, showcasing Gorgeous Frankenstein live at BB King's, where the bass amps display Ampeg badges. During his Abominator tour in Sioux Falls, SD, the Ampeg logos were missing, though the screw holes remained. Doyle's early setups included large 1970s Ampeg V2 4x12" cabs and custom-built 4x12" cabinets, but he continues to incorporate the Ampeg 8x10" for monitoring the bass player at larger venues.

Doyle uses this the Tascam DP-32SD for all his tracking work in Doyle. You can see it right in front of him in this Instagram post.
"The Misfits and Dean Markley have had a long-standing relationship. The quality of Markley's strings is unsurpassed making them the ideal strings for the Fits. The legendary band has been using Markley strings exclusively for years, both live as well as in the recording studio. Always striving to take intensity to the next level the Misfits sought to develop custom string gauges to voice their trademark guitars. Long in the works the Misfits and Dean Markley have officially joined forces to bring these custom strings to the general public for the first time ever! That's right fiends; the exact gauges and alloys used and devised exclusively by the Misfits available where ever fine music products are sold!"
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein uses the Oktober Devil Wings Bass. According to the official Doyle website, this bass was prominently used during his time with Gorgeous Frankenstein. Since forming his new band, Doyle has incorporated the '77 modified Squier Jazz Bass for some live performances.
At 4:38 on top of his Demeter preamps you can see a Power Brake. He said "Yeah, they complain every day. I had to buy a Marshall Power Brake to shut it up but I have not used it once. They complain "Oh you're too loud, oh you're too loud". I'm like "Shut the fuck up!."

Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein used the Line 6 Relay G30 wireless system during his time with Gorgeous Frankenstein, as detailed in the Premier Guitar "Rig Rundown" article from October 18, 2013.
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein likely used the Ampeg V2 Ported 4x12 Cab during his early career. At that time, Ampeg was based in New Jersey, and the V2 cabinet was the largest 4x12" guitar cab available, making it a fitting choice for his powerful sound. The YouTube video by Donna & Dan suggests this setup, highlighting the V2 as a companion to the 100w V4 head. While the stock photo shows a taller, ported version typically intended for bass, it reflects the robust design Doyle favored.
Used for his "doyle" band proyect on summer 2019/2020 on europe tour and australian dates!!
