If youre not worried about rate and you want a beautiful stereo chorus, get this.
This chorus pedal is easily the best one I've ever played through. This is based on a Roland DC-30 chorus that Ed used on several songs in the DLR era, before moving to the Eventide. The thing that may set people off about this pedal is its control layout. There is no rate knob, only an intensity control with tone and volume. The chorus is essentially fixed at a slower rate, with the intensity controlling the amount of chorus effect. The desirable sounds I found were anywhere from the intensity all the way off (which essentially gives off a stereo split, and is easy to forget the effect is on, but when you turn it off you realize its actually doing a lot) to about mid-way (this is where the chorusing is way more obvious, with a slightly delayed pitch altering, which gives off seasick vibes). Anywhere higher really induces a lot of what I would describe as pitch warping. However, the really great spot for the pedal is with the intensity at about 10:00, the tone control at about 11:00, and the volume set to whatever volume your guitar is at. The tone control is also great, it isn't just a treble roll-off. The tone is definitely a lot thinner at higher settings, and fatter at lower settings. Overall, this is a great pedal, and it is very easy to dial in not just Ed's tone, but a tone that is able to conform to your playing.
