Then what’s great about the room is there’s all these little booby traps everywhere. Like, I have two mics in the top of the room that are really great for backup vocals, or acoustic room sound. I’ll often record that in addition to stuff. They’re both Coles [4038] mics which sound kind of odd.

Jack often uses the Limited Edition Wilshire Pro guitar in his live performances of Shadow, Like A River Runs, Carry On (from his time in fun.), and Don't Take The Money (as seen in the video at 1:55). This Alpine White guitar perfectly fits Bleachers' use of black and white in the Strange Desire and Gone Now album covers. Jack has stated that "black and white creates a strange dreamscape that color never can." These colors are also symbolic of his anthemic Bleachers music, inspired by the Beatles and Bruce Springsteen, to which fans can both dance and cry.
