Jared Scharff's Gear
In this photoograph, Jared is holding his Eastwood Airline '59 2P guitar. According to this reverb page (https://reverb.com/item/41891597-2013-eastwood-airline-59-2p-jared-scharff-saturday-night-live-collection) "This Eastwood Airline ’59 2P is #6 of 24 of a limited run issued in a Metallic Blue/White two-tone finish".
From the interview:
"I’ve been enjoying a Walrus Audio Jupiter Fuzz, which is great for those “in your face” moments – those are some of my favorite!"
"...Last but not least is 11) the JHS Mini Bomb. I love that little guy! It kicks ass if you need boost for anything.”
Jared demo-ing this pedal at 3:00. He used this mostly for blues-sounding stuff.
From the Vintage Guitar interview:
"The first pedal I go into is a wah that sits off the board – either a 1) Real McCoy custom or an Xotic Effects"
"From there, it goes 2) into a tuner – soon to be a TC Electronic Polytune"
At this point of interview seems like he hasn't added it yet though
"...then 3) an old U.F.O. Fuzz by Homebrew Electronics, which is fuzzy but sounds more high-gain."
In an article by Ward Meeker for Vintage Guitar magazine, Jared Scharff mentions his use of the Xotic Effects BB Preamp, noting its position next to his Tube Screamer on his pedalboard.
"... 5) a Keeley Screamer – I mostly use the drive on my 65 Amps Monterrey, but at a gig where I can use only one channel, I’ll go clean channel and use these for drive."
"... The 6) Sweet Sound Ultra Vibe is the most killer uni-vibe sound ever. I love it."
"... Next is the 7) Analog Man Chorus, which I use to get a faux-Leslie effect"
"...Cusak Tap-A-Whirl for tremolo – I use a simple Fender-style trem sound, and I love its tap-tempo feature. It’s great for a gig where the repertoire is diverse, like ‘SNL.’ For delays"
"...I have 9) an old Boss DD5 and 10) an Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport; I like having two delays with different sonic characteristics. I don’t do tap-tempo for delays – I just have them set for vibe. I like to see what sort of random chaos the different tempos bring out, but it’s mostly set for solos."
At 7:43, Jared described his modulation pedals. He uses MXR Analog Chorus for the Leslie Effect
At 6:52, Jared introduces this pedal. He uses this to create some Hendrix-like tones every once in a while.

the warbletron has one of the best pitch modulators I have heard yet. Really smooth. Just feels great. - Jared Scharff (SNL Lead Guitarist)
