Description
Introducing the Walrus Audio Kangra, a unique blend of octave fuzz and filter in one true bypass pedal. This is not your average rhythm player's fuzz. The Kangra is built to deliver thick, spatty octave fuzz and a psychedelic filter that can be used independently or combined to create a versatile range of sounds.
This pedal was born from a collaboration with Saturday Night Live guitarist and fuzz fanatic, Jared Scharff, who sought a modern filtered fuzz inspired by his favorite vintage fuzz pedal, the Kay Fuzz Tone. The outcome is the Kangra, a pedal that provides the grit and vintage vibe Scharff was after, making it a go-to choice for both modern and vintage fuzz enthusiasts.
The Kangra features a M/V switch that allows you to select between two distinctly different flavors of fuzz. In the Vintage (V) position, you get a ragged, "spatty" breakup with gritty sustain ideal for single-note lines. Flip to the Modern (M) position for a tighter, more "forgiving" fuzz with longer sustain that lends itself to a wider range of playing styles.
The filter on the Kangra is equally versatile. With Sensitivity, Resonance, Frequency, and Envelope filter controls, you can create a unique shape to your sound or flip the Envelope filter switch for funky ’60s-style sounds.
