What songs are you using the Pog on, just outta curiosity?
Um, it changes. Uh, let's see, on the solo from "Flying Over Water", I use it. In the studio I used a Caroline Wave Cannon, which has this switch that just goes berserk. I mean, it does all kinds of weird, glitchy noises that are still melodic, they're still, you know, they're the notes you're playing, but they're jumpin' octaves and you can control em' with your volume knob and you tone knob, unless you put a compressor in front of it, which then kills whatever filter that is. That pedal's... it's crazy, it's a mystery to me. I love that pedal, but since I kinda have to be able to turn knobs on it, I can't really take it out on the road, wouldn't use it too much.
In "Jason Isbell // This is How I Bliss", at 0:12, Jason Isbell's rack clearly shows a Chase Bliss Preamp MKII, Chase Bliss CXM 1978, Wampler Tape Echo, and Poly Tune.
Isbell goes on to state how he likes to really adjust the Preamp quickly and on the fly, looking towards it for a more mid-range altering sound -- also stating he could use just the two Chase Bliss Automatone pedals as its own rig.

On Jason's official Instagram, you can see him playing a red Gibson Firebird III. This guitar has dot inlays and a maestro style bridge which leads me to believe it is a III.
At 37:17 in this 2024 Jason Isbell Rig Rundown, his tech says:
The Tentacle in the earlier iteration was mounted underneath the pedalboard, but we've brought it back over here.
In his 2024 Premier Guitar Rig Rundown at 37:19 you there’s a Boss MD-500.
In Jason Isbell’s 2024 Premier Guitar Rig Rundown he once again mention his Ibanez DML20 Modulation Delay.
Notably used on King of Oklahoma off of Weathervanes, Isbell's Dumble ODS was a previously unknown example, originally made for Dennis Herring.
According to Premier Guitar, this supply powers the Klon Centaur and 2 Fishman Aura Spectrums.
According to Premier Guitar, Isbell uses TC Electronic PolyTune 2 Noir as his tuner.

Got a new guitar and want it to "open up" a little quicker? Leave an e-bow on the strings when you aren't playing it to vibrate the top.

Guitar geek post: One way to "open up" a new top is to leave an E-Bow on the strings when you aren't playing it.

A thing that makes me happy: Brand-new Elliott x McKinney capo. Mr. E takes his job very, very seriously. I like that about him.
