    Source
  • The EBow Plus offers more power than sustainer-equipped guitars, despite being harder to control, akin to driving a manual rather than automatic.

    Source

Build quality

  • Users note the original EBow's fragility, breaking easily even on carpeted surfaces, while the TC AEON is praised for its sturdier metal chassis.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • The TC AEON is often highlighted as a cost-effective alternative to the EBow, offering better battery efficiency and durability.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • EBow Plus is favored for creating long atmospheric soundscapes, especially when combined with reverse delay and reverb effects.

  • The EBow can create unique effects when the battery weakens, like mimicking a buzzing insect, showcasing its potential for experimental sound exploration.

    Source
  • An EBow Plus owner since 1998 shared that despite multiple drops, it remains functional, supported by glue repairs.

    Source
  • A user successfully combined a Rowin Slow Hand pedal with a long delay to emulate EBow effects without handling the device directly.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The EBow Plus is noted to work on electric bass and acoustic guitars, unlike the TC AEON and YoJo, which are less effective with these instruments.

    Source
  • The Sound Stone is noted to be less effective than the EBow, with users favoring the genuine article's performance.

    Source
  • The Ed O'Brien Stratocaster with Fernandes Sustainer pickups is an alternative, but may be excessive unless dedicated to that specific sound profile.

Not just for fretless instruments...

I bought it for using on my fretless instruments but it actually sounds brilliant when I use it on my fretted basses, too

The real thing

This is still a very peculiar tool to achieve peculiar expressiveness resources with our electric guitars. It requieres some initial training but then you can start mastering some basics.

this part of 10's rythm guitar sounds very smooth at beggining and end of solo (2:46-2:55, 3:49-3:59) dime might use EBow Plus, because this sounds not like a pick at all. also in 10's (Early Mix) you can hear infinite sustain.
