The best capo I didn’t know I needed
The first capo I ever owned 25 years ago was a Kyser. At the time that’s really all you could find in local shops. I used it on both my electric and acoustic guitars.
Fast forward to present day when I needed to replace it. I determined from photos that Johnny Marr was using a G7th Performance on his signatures Fender Jaguars during live performances which intrigued me because he’s almost always using one on the 2nd, 4th or 5th frets. If it worked for him, I thought it might do the trick for me.
I can’t speak to the science behind their Adaptive Radius Technology but can attest to the fact that it does what G7th says it does: “mechanically adapts to the true curvature over your strings and fretboard, exerting completely even pressure across all the strings - setting a new standard of in-tune, buzz-free use.”
Also the string pads are fully replaceable and available to order so there’s no reason they can’t last a lifetime (unless you lose it; don’t lose it).

Did not enjoy this capo, own four other brands of capos
I did not feel that the tension provided by this capo kept my guitar as close to the desired tunings as I would have liked it to. Additionally, the capo was not particularly quick to put on and remove, and I found myself feeling more insecure about the positioning of the capo then when I use other spring loaded or fastening capos. I was not a fan of the size of the capo either, as it felt too small to really act as an anchor for my playing.

Guitar nerds: G7th has a new black chrome edition of their fancy capo. I just bought one. I don't know the G7th folks, and I happily paid full price.

A great UK company, Mike uses the performance capo, along with a prototype partial capo. These capos work on a pressure system, you can easily adjust the tension with a simple squeeze. Plus they look like they’re part of a porsche.
