Joey can be seen playing his Fender 1982 Gold Jazz Bass throughout Paramore's After Laughter tour. He mainly used it for Paramore's older songs, such as Misery Business, That's What You Get, Still Into You, and Ain't It Fun. The bass was tuned to Drop D, which is suggested by the tunings needed for That's What You Get and Still Into You. However, for Ain't It Fun and Misery Business, the low D string was tuned down to C# rather than tuning the entire bass to C# standard like former Paramore bassist Jeremy Davis used to do.

It can be spotted best in this video at 1:36.

Joey was also seen with the Gibson more frequently on Paramore's This is Why Tour and opening act dates for Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour. He mainly used it for the songs Misery Business and Ain't It Fun, resulting in the bass' tuning to be C#AGD.

In this Instagram post from Byrd Sells, it says Joey Howard owned this 1999 Fender American Jazz Bass with Lindy Fralin pickups. Joey has been seen playing this bass during Paramore's After Laughter Tour in 2017 as well as in some of his Instagram/TikTok videos (https://www.instagram.com/p/CLoyVbkB_Jl/?hl=en).

During Paramore's After Laughter Tour, Joey mainly used the bass for Paramore's older material as seen in this concert footage from 2017 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=907Xpk4xQtU&t=1080s). Songs featuring this bass include Still Into You (12:22), Decode (26:40), I Caught Myself (31:19), Playing God (51:28), Ain't It Fun (59:25), and Misery Business (1:05:38). Given the roster of songs, the bass was most likely tuned to Drop D and tuned to C#AGD for Ain't It Fun and Misery Business as Joey seems to play those songs in that tuning rather than in C# Standard like former Paramore bassist Jeremy Davis.
