Noodles has used these amps since about 1994 and to this day.

"About a year ago, Dexter and I were turned on to VHT amplifiers by our tech, Steve Masi. VHT's are made by a guy named Steve Friette, who used to play guitar in The Dickies. His amps are awesome and add so much to our sound, but we found that we missed a lot of what our Mesa/Boogie Mark IV's had to offer, so we run both amps in unison. The sounds we are getting now are huge and still well-defined," says Noodles.

Noodles uses a version of the Tube Screamer with a Robert Keeley mod, as told in this interview to Ultimate Guitar:

"We don't screw around with effects too much. We messed around a little bit with amps and stuff in here. The only real effect we relied heavily on was the, what is it, the (Robert) Keeley-modified Tube Screamer? It's like the Ibanez Tube Screamer except it wasn't even an Ibanez. Essentially it's the same circuitry and stuff but then he adds some kind of chip to it or something."

Noodles used a Krank Krankenstein amp to record "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace" album.

"And then the Dimebag Darrell Krank amp which actually sounded really good. [Laughs] I wouldn't think that a Dimebag Darrell amp would work for us at all but it really sounds really good. It's a lot more varied; not that there's anything against Dimebag, it's just different styles, you know what I'm saying? It's actually a really cool and great amp." - Noodles

"I also use an Ibanez Artstar on a couple of songs. I like this guitar even better than the Talman, but because of the hollow body it feeds back too much to use on most of our stuff. Any time I can lower the gain on my amp, I'm busting out the Artstar." - Noodles

"Wasserman uses Fractal’s “Friedman BE” preset (which is based on a Friedman BE-100 Brown Eye/Hairy Brown Eye) for all his dirty sounds, and the “Bassguy Bass” preset (based on a Fender ’65 Bassman) for clean tones. The Fractal also sends a signal to a Matrix GT1000FX-1U power amp, which powers two Egnater Tourmaster 4212 cabinets loaded with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, to move some air onstage."

"I started collecting guitars and amps about three years ago and I have about 30 guitars that run from re-issue Danelectros to my 1956 Gretsch Sparkle Jet. When I go gear shopping I'm usually just looking for something that inspires me, something that feels or sounds so different that it inspires my playing to different directions, whether it's a new guitar, amp or some kind of stomp box. If I had to pick something that seems missing from my collection, I'd have to say something strange like a Vigier fretless guitar, though I have no idea what I'd do with one of those things."
