In the 1988 TV broadcast of Metallica's performance at Hammersmith Odeon in London, Kirk Hammett can be seen playing the ESP M-II "Zorlac." This guitar, produced between 1986 and 1989, marks the beginning of Hammett's collaboration with ESP, leading to the creation of his signature KH series. The "Zorlac" model features a distinctive vertical skull and crossbones design, an inverted Jackson-style headstock, a neck-thru-body construction, a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and EMG 81 and 60 pickups, along with an original Floyd Rose tremolo system.
