The guitar comes with a Maestro Vibrola, a feature that adds a touch of classic vibrato to your tunes, and three powerful CustomBucker Alnico III unpotted humbucking pickups, which deliver the vintage PAF tone that Gibson is renowned for. Its solid mahogany body is lightweight, offering great sustain and a comfortable playing experience for those long gig nights.
The fast, comfortable 1959 Authentic Medium neck profile and the bound ebony fingerboard with Plek'd medium jumbo frets make for an effortless playing experience. Kate Pierson used to play guitar with the band as well as organ/keyboard. Usually for a few songs, most notably "52' Girls" (Fred Schneider would play the Farfisa on that song). This guitar was unique to Kate as I've not seen a single member of the B-52's use it, including Ricky. I don't know if Kate was using custom tunings or E standard tuning.
