MAKJ's Software Plugins and VSTs

At 1:40 into the video "MAKJ - Studio Sessions - Episode 001" MAKJ talks about the Sonalksis Creative Filter: "... and it has this filter on it that I really, really enjoy. It's called the Creative Filter from Sonalksis. It's one of my favorite plugins, I use it... it's probably on every channel. I start a new audio track, this is the first thing on it, because a lot of the stuff that you get from different plugins - Waves, even the stock stuff - it adds digital 'crap' I would say on the track. You put it on you channel and it immediately ruins the file of your audio stuff. This one, this filter, I don't see a change of sound quality. And the filters are really, really sharp too. You can go up to a 48dB cut, you can do 24, the resonance is really nice so, I really push this filter a lot."

At 4:18 in the video, MAKJ breaks down how he got the lead sound in his collab with Hardwell "Countdown": "...I've always been into this new one. Showtek actually got me onto this, this is what actually this lead comes from. It's called MorphoX, made by LinPlug... this one to me is the best. I use this one lead for two drops... it's like the intro... And then on the second drop, you can start seeing the morph wheel switch, and it's going to a completely different sound... It's kind of like Sylenth, but with Sylenth you can't blend them together, so with this one you're morphing the sound."

At 5:23 in the video: "I always recommend this thing too, it's called Smartelectronix. It's free, and it's just... I can see what [the waveform] is doing. It's like opening up Serato. Without having to bounce it out you can actually see what it's doing while working on the track."
