Stratocaster and ARP Avatar / Roland GS-500 guitar synthesizers “I use the Strat to control the Avatar, and the Roland has its own guitar. I find the two synthesizers behave differently: the Avatar’s hexaphonic fuzz sounds great, but the Roland is polyphonic, so I can play chords on it. I used synthesizers extensively on my solo album [Smallcreep’s Day], and I also played it a lot on And Then There Were Three. (Guitar Player, Jan 1981)

At the 0:39 mark of this video footage of the Genesis 1983 album sessions, Mike Rutherford can be seen playing what looks like a 1963 Gibson SG classic white guitar
Mike Rutherford himself brings up the white SG on this Q&A page, mentioning he had used in on a few records (like the Genesis album, as mentioned above) and it's visible in videos (including the "Mama" video, for example). But eventually it "went walkabout" (i.e. it got lost) somewhere along the line.
“When I went to Charterhouse I started writing some songs with Anthony Phillips. And there we formed a band called Anon. By then I was using a Höfner Colorama electric, and the whole group went through one small amp – an RSC.” (Guitar Player, January 1981).
On the Shergold website, there is a photo of Rutherford with a Shergold Custom Double 12/4.

In this GuitarPlayer article, Mike Rutherford is seen playing the Squier Bullet Strat HT for some of the Genesi's 2021 The Last Domino? tour. The article notes that even though Mike Rutherford has a large collection of pricey guitars, in the forementioned tour he is seen many times with the Squier Bullet Strat HT, which can be found for under USD 200. As the story goes, Mike Rutherford, who lives in Surrey, England, owns a house in Cape Town, South Africa. During the 2020-2021 pandemic, he was stuck in Cape Town for several weeks without a guitar. Since the tour was starting soon and he needed to re-learn the setlist, he went to a local music store and bought a couple of Squiers. When the tour kicked off, he naturally added the guitars to his gear.
In this interview with Guitar World, Mike says:
And I’ve got one of those Fender Acoustasonic Strats, the little ones, which is really nice. I mean, it’s not as good as a real acoustic guitar to be honest, but for stage it’s very easy and friendly.
Mike has been using this guitar since the Turn it on again tour in 2007
In the official music video for Genesis's "In Too Deep," Mike Rutherford can be seen playing a Gibson Chet Atkins CE at the 0:53 mark.
