Owl City's Gear
Adam Young of Owl City has two Digidesign 96s at his Sky Harbor Studio in Minnesota.
"I like the size and feel of the Voyager, to a point where I just sit down in front of it and feel inspired, because it's like I'm sitting in a cockpit of a plane... There's something magical about that synth. Whether you're using it as a controller or otherwise, it's just fantastic.”
Adam Young of Owl City lists this DAW as one of many used at his personal studio in Minnesota.
Adam Young lists Melodyne in his studio equipment list. Interestingly, he lists it as a DAW instead of as a plugin.
He used this guitar to perform fireflies at live in la.

The Apogee Symphony is the last audio interface listed under "I/O" on Owl City's studio equipment list.
"The JUNO-Gi was a big one, too. I love some of the stock sounds. I find myself creating this shell of a song musically, and I need this filler inside, sounds that compliment everything else in a beautiful way. The JUNO has always been something I’ve turned to for that—it’s full of great sounds to fill up the meat of the song. There’s an endless amount of these patches I love."
Adam Young of Owl City uses two Gibson guitars in his studio. He has a black Les Paul Standard, as can be seen in this Instagram photo of him playing live.
Presonus Studio One is listed as one of DAWs Adam Young of Owl City uses in his Sky Harbour Studios. Due to the date of the website, it can be assumed the version of the Studio One is version 2.0.
"Something I absolutely cannot live without is my pair of SRH840 headphones. It may sound strange, but I don’t actually use near field speakers or studio monitors of any kind for this project. Instead, I write, record and mix everything on headphones exclusively. I love being immersed in music, and headphones have always been my favorite way of consuming music, so that’s my reason behind choosing headphones versus speakers."
In an Instagram post, Owl City mentions using Image Line FL Studio, specifically highlighting the Fruity DX10 plugin as a favorite.

Reason can also be seen in this Instagram post where he says:
Digging through old sessions and exporting old favorite synth patches. I made this lead out of two square/sine waveforms probably six or seven years ago and it's the simplest thing ever but I forgot how pure it sounds. Medicine for goat.
The new tunes are sounding lovely and I’m beyond excited for you to hear them. Without being too revealing, like the Great Mouse Detective that I am, the new record is going to be mighty tasty. Bigger synths, dreamier pads, meatier kick drums, lots of hand programmed glitchy IDM sequences, loads of analog synth, live guitars, live drums, catchy hooks like it’s Muskie season, maybe even a well-placed brass stab somewhere in homage to the genius that is MC Hammer. Got my grubby hands on a bunch of new plug-ins the other day and they’re blowing my MIND. Moog filters, Trident EQ’s, a bunch of CLASSIC Neve stuff, vintage channel strips, SSL compressors/limiters out the wazoo, even a Roland RE-20 Space Echo plug-in. I’ll have the Signal Flow salad sandwich.
"I love the Fantom-G8. That served as a lot of the inspiration, just having the main piano patch pulled up all the time. I was always writing on that, and I used it as my main MIDI controller as well."
At Sky Harbor Studios, Adam Young of Owl City uses a Nord Electro 3 61-Key Keyboard, as noted by Kane Dane on Ayoungmusic.
