Decent sounds... Really versatile.
This is a pretty cool board. It was my first synth and I didn't know much about the synth industry when I got it. If I could go back in time, I probably would have gotten something different. To consider this guy a true synthesizer would be dumb... All of it's sounds are sampled. So it only has presets, making it so you can't really craft your own sounds from scratch. Also, a lot of the lead patches aren't too good. You get a lot of aliasing at high frequencies. The organs don't sound great either. Not percussive at all. The electric piano sounds are decent. BUT, on the positive side, throughout most of the playable range, most of the patches sound good. It is also really versatile. While the patches themselves aren't top notch, you get a ton, and if you really learn how to use the board well, you can do a lot with them and make them sound alright.
It is also really light (Approx. 12 lbs. I am pretty sure), which makes gigging a breeze. The keys themselves feel really nice. This synth actually works really well as a MIDI controller too. This only adds to the versatility.
All in all, this is a pretty good synth. It has decent sounds and is super versatile. I think a 3-star rating is quite appropriate.
In my opinion, Roland synths have really died. They peaked with the first few Juno's (the Juno 6 through the 106) and the Jupiter 80. But now, most of their products are no good; with the exception of the new Aira series and the new JD-XI synth (Although they are waaay over-priced in my opinion).

Great Vocal cancel Synth!
Got it for sale in Hollywood Guitar Ctr. last year. great board with 128-note Polyphony and V-synth laser capable, Usb flash jack make you played direct from mp3 or Wav file format. I still explore many functions of this gear. Follow mw and you will see more of my audiophile tackle of this Synth.

"The JUNO-Gi was a big one, too. I love some of the stock sounds. I find myself creating this shell of a song musically, and I need this filler inside, sounds that compliment everything else in a beautiful way. The JUNO has always been something I’ve turned to for that—it’s full of great sounds to fill up the meat of the song. There’s an endless amount of these patches I love."
