Richard Devine's Gear
Richard Devine posted this image of his Roland TB-303 Devil Fish sitting on a Ouija Board with the caption "Acid Spells :-)"
Richard Devine uses the Doepfer A-149-1 Quantized/Stored Random Voltages which generates four different analog random control voltages that are generated in different ways. It is seen racked amid the array of synths he has at his North Carolina-based studio. An image of it can be seen in the video (10:22). Devine had this to say regarding his arsenal of modular synths: "It’s become like this kinda nonstop sorta… I don’t know how to describe it. It’s just a really inspirational area that I’ve been sorta researching and playing around with, to generate new sounds and sequencing ideas and I’ve been recording nonstop actually since I’ve been using this system."

In the YouTube video (@ 4:36), Richard Devine says about the Glitchmachines Logic Bomb: “This is basically a Casio synth keyboard and basically you ‘glitch’ the sound by turning the joystick knobs around… matrix breakout that works with a parallel cable and also a bunch of bend points that you can trigger that work in tandem while you’re playing different sequences and sounds and manipulating the joysticks gives this strange, chaotic, cacophony of strange noises and digital blips and bleeps; it’s an awesome machine.”
Per Richard Devine in this YouTube video (2:40) regarding the Genelec 8250A:
“I started out using the 6010s, the smaller ones at first, and really loved those because I basically bought those thinking that I was going to be using those as my portable studio speakers, so to speak, and I ended up liking them so much I decided to go up to the bigger speakers (8250A) for my main monitoring and was very happy that I did so… my ears are thanking me on that one."
Richard Devine uses the Doepfer A-140 ADSR Envelope Generator, an envelope generator, and, since it puts out control voltages, counts as one of the modulation devices in a modular system. It is seen racked amid the array of synths he has at his North Carolina-based studio. An image of it can be seen in the video (10:20).
