Critic Reviews

Roland V-Synth GT

soundonsound.com

Roland's V-Synth GT is a digital powerhouse, blending innovative features like Articulative Phrase Synthesis and an impressive Vocal Designer that delivers expressive and realistic vocals without rebooting. The dual-core structure and increased polyphony provide versatility, making it perfect for complex layering and splits. However, it suffers from a dated patch/tone management system, lack of direct WAV import, and some lost features from its predecessors. Despite these quirks, it stands out with its advanced sound design capabilities, offering both familiar and groundbreaking elements to explore. An overall compelling choice for those seeking depth and expressiveness in synthesis.

Fairly weird synth from a mainstream manufacturer

This does some weird and unusual synthy things that most newer synths and software synths never tried to copy, as far as I know. It's super synthy: not the instrument to use if you want just a piano or electric piano, etc.

Touch screen and lots of knobs make it pretty easy to use.

It doesn't have sequencer, massive polyphonicity etc., which keep it simpler than a workstation.

S&S World... Please welcome

Almost all kind of synthesis has in it. Especially Articulative Phrase Synthesis is the best in my opinion. And of course Vocal Designer just further step of the vocoder, amazing.

Awesome synth

Used for pads and bass lines in my studio, I use the vocoder too.
