Rick Danko's Gear
Danko used the Fender Jazz Bass during the early days of The Band and also when they backed up Bob Dylan. The photo is him on the left in the hat.
At minute 0:57 you can see the Ampeg B-15 Bass Amp behind Rick. It used that amp for the Last Waltz Live in 1978
Danko can be seen playing a Gibson Ripper in this photo.
Danko played a Bass VI before switching to conventional bass guitar models. This was of course well before the 1968 formation of The Band.
At minute 2:20 you can see Rick Danko playing his Fender Jazz bass through a fender bassman amp. The cabinet is behind him and the head (fender super bassman silverface) is placed behind the drums. He used that amp during Pink House sessions in Woodstock
This picture shows Danko with his Ampeg AMUB-1 Fretless bass, which was put up for auction in 2014.
