Sebastian Szary's Gear
Sebastan shows this plug in at 0.55 into this video:
Four different monitor setups—Genelec 1038A, Genelec 8040A, Genelec 8020A, and Mackie HR824—plus four headphone types assure all the blinking LEDs add up to pitch-bent sound design that never loses track of the club''s arterial insistency.
As for the gear that we can't live without... Main piece: computer, Software: Logic (still), Drum machine: TR-808 (the lady), Basic synth: Korg MS-10 (the simple)… and tons of other gear.
Onstage, a laptop runs Native Instruments'' Traktor Pro 2 through a Kontrol S4, a Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer synced to Traktor''s clock, a Korg Monotron, and some distortion pedals—“just what fits in two bags,” says Szary.

We have two workstations on two custom made tables placed in one line. The core of the setup is a MacBook Pro 13 with Ableton live, APC40 controller, and a MASCHINE.

On the other side, we use a 12-channel analog mixer mic live-synched via MIDI, a KORG monologue, a delay pedal and each table has a MOD Devices – MOD Duo pedal for vocal effects. We have a third workspace on a platform with a little stompbox synth and a TR-909 for techno tracks.

Most of the sequences are played from Ableton, some samples and sounds are generated with an MPC and Monologue. Ableton also sends individual sounds to the analogue mixer. These sounds can be then deconstructed with the delay pedal.
Yes, we are still using Reaktor for live and in the studio.
The very latest piece of gear is the Casiotone MT-40 and the little [Korg] Volca Modular.
Sebastian Szary of Modeselektor has recently added the Casio Casiotone MT-40 to his gear collection, as mentioned in the Native Instruments Blog.
For each application, we try on both platforms: Floodverb vs. Erbe-Verb vs. blueSky pedal, for example. When we use a software synthesizer, we mostly go for RAZOR – it is still the best sounding software synth ever.
