Prob the easiest workflow on the market. Pads are good and it is super portable.

In this video starting at 1:18, The Alchemist talks about using the AKAI MPC Studio with his group Step Brothers on the album "Lord Steppington".
The man has moved on to computer based beatmaking, though he says he will sometimes grab his old 2500
Most of the sequences are played from Ableton, some samples and sounds are generated with an MPC and Monologue. Ableton also sends individual sounds to the analogue mixer. These sounds can be then deconstructed with the delay pedal.
