Exactly my thoughts! I had a bass player that had an f-hole bass that squealed with feedback for the whole show for the only gig he used it on, but it's like painting on a bigsby!

I was surprised recently to see a Gretsch in a pawn shop the other day with painted on f-holes. Of all the companies you do not expect to fake it...

Hi There,
Make your fave 3 items (you have submitted 16 items already by the look of it).. choose the faves and make them your first three on your Equipboard, then go to "get your Widget" and hit generate again, until they are in the widget feature box, then choose a size, and then copy whichever link you choose and paste it where you need it.
(You can change the order later, but the widget will stay as you created. until next time.

My 2 cents.. possible worn nut. Possible change of gauge and neck tension adjusting.

Green Day and Metalica's New Albums
Punk, by tradition was fast, hard and dirty. Stripped back songs delivered with belief and aggression, with lyrics that meant something... a whole lot of something... to its writers, and the people who listened to it. Common themes were tearing down the governmental bodies and being a voice to those who wanted to be heard.
Punk came across as simplistic, but the players were not simple and the techniques they employed showed speed, prowess, and a degree of finesse (that many who were not versed in the style) completely overlooked.. because ignorance was easier than acceptance.
Punk was DIY. Printed flyers, home recorded tapes, hand drawn t-shirts. Hired halls and small clubs with multiple bands on the shared bill. It was what THEY made of it.
Punk was music's next evolution, the gritty underbelly that was passionate and honest, that grabbed the youth seeking an edge or a rebellion and got in their face to show them they were not alone.
The punk movement continued to evolve and shift, becoming the grunge and stoner rock movement on one hand, goth and shoe gaze on another, and thrash metal and speed metal on another. Taking aspects of it's origins and spitting them into the wind.
Blink and Pennywise and cohorts were the anthem of skate punk, losing their political voice, discarding any real beliefs and selling direct to the kids.
Record companies saw the kids wanting these bands.... how POPular they were, and signed them giving kids wider access to the popular punks.... Pop punk in it's purest form.... If this disillusion of belief can be truly considered to have a pure form.
Points to Green Day. They recall the scene, and saw the influence it had. They are copying the style and trying to capture the energy and passion that The Sex Pistols, The Exploited and The Damned threw at us. They are supplying the formula. But the supermarket version of grandmas recipe is not the same as grabbing one of her cookies off the windowsill while they were cooling...

Green Day and Metalica's New Albums
Pop-Punk. Tossing aside the "screw the Establishment" ethos of traditional punk and hard-core movements and prodigies, grabbing a solid and well marketed grip of consumerism, while shooting a quick wink and being "as punk as mainstream pop allows".
In much the same way the Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry are huge sellers to the teen and pre teen markets, with songs ranging from drug and alcohol abuse to acts of lewd and lavacious sexual misconduct.
Call it what they will, it is a package deal.... packaged to sell sell sell!
None of this is new... The Vapors Turning Japanese is perhaps the most recognised song in the world about masturbation, released in 1980.
Here is No Use for a Name giving us a punk version for those who needed a relevant top up...

I will add: if we never stumble... we never better ourselves. I have assumed crash and burn when a string breaks live, mid solo and quickly mashed something out, only to review the audio later and pick magic moments from the panic and incorporate them into future shows/ solos.
32 songs in two days... that is impressive as all Boom! Be proud of that.
So a guy threw a challenge out... and it didn't work the way you wanted. If you had nailed everything you played.. including the improve, the class would have been less impressed. They got to hear a Musician, playing for the love of it.. not the songs he was told to learn, something that is a part of who he is.
Likely they did not notice. Not all people know all songs, and what you viewed as a catastrophe, could have been the different viewpoint to a song that provides someone in that room with a catalyst to go forward and make something magical.
Be proud of your show. You blew them away.

Roland Jazz Chorus.
I find them cleaner than Fender, but that moves you from tube into solid state. Some people find them a little bland, but they have been a mainstay in many studios and albums for decades.
The amp comes with Reverb, Chorus and vibrato effects that are also unbeatable.
Look them up and have a listen.

I would say yes... but to match your style, consider a few variants.
Traditional Flanger after Muff chaining will give those soaring jet sounds at certain settings, but flanger before muff will tame the beast. For your styling, I doubt you would be driving the muff too hard, but even the harshest "rock" diallings will give gorgeous sustain with less attack.
The muff with the chorus flanger just swelling the volume will give some pretty lush soundscapes. I love the combination and have used it from melodic goth and sombre rock to pretty aggressive post punk pop and even pop rock that is a bit more commercial.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas! [Feb 2017]
This sounds like the best possible working solution we could hope for.
The idea of having to delete and reload all of our gear would be in risk of losing gear IQ points and any up votes... these are like badges of honour on the boards.
Being able to nominate our categories in the order that is most relevant to us as musicians still allows us to personalise our own boards to make them a true reflection of us as individuals.
I think this sounds great.

A Boss Flanger (bright and chimey... real bell tones) is not as overpowering as an EHX Electric Mistress (can really take over when a fuzz is involved... definitely play with your signal chain on this one!), compare those sounds for staters online then hunt out some used or clones...

I love that reverb.com was able to comment on it. A testament to how big the site is. And how big a part it plays for so many in the music community.

Video for the Hotone Bass Press.
Hiya Boom,
I have the Soul Press... (guitar version of this). Works just fine. Switchable between vol/ wah / exp. LED lights so you know when it is on, and a dial on the side for deciding when vol is all the way "Heel" how low that floor volume is.
This way you can have it vol zero to full, or e.g. vol 5 for quiet sections, or play it at heel at about vol 7 and slam it forward for bass runs and solos.
People complain about the build quality online. have not had an issue yet.

FENDER STROCASTER VS TELECASTER
I do agree with you both. Certain instruments alter how you play, what techniques you use and the sound you are creating. Some are more naturally suited to styles of playing, but using one less suited, still using them in ways that:
a) Fit the style of the music
b) Work with the way you play that particular instrument
c) Can yield results that may or may not work, but could give you an idea toward a fusion of styles you had not considered before (when in writing/ composing mode).
This is not to say that your BC Rich should be used for chicken picking, but it could be used in a country styled song in some way or another.
Maybe country music just needs some Floyd slams!

I can't find any information about Freeman guitars and basses
Thank you! My advice is play before you buy and buy the ones you love. If the one you buy is something you love, you should not have to buy another... at least for many years!

I can't find any information about Freeman guitars and basses
Hahahah. When I bought my one years ago, the brand was ONYX in Australia. cheap, fun to play, VERY difficult to put new parts on. I still have one guitar (do not have the bass anymore), I will always love it... because it was my first. You will enjoy it. Have fun.

I can't find any information about Freeman guitars and basses
Any sites I find suggest they are entry level copies. Based on the prices, I would imagine they will not last long, as hardware and build quality would be quite low.
Speculation only here...
It may have trouble staying in tune... the machine heads may strip quickly, the switches may cut in and out after a while, the volume may crackle. I probably will not seem as loud as other basses, because the pickups and the pots will be cheap and basic. The neck may warp with a truss rod that isn't quite right, the strings may sit quite high off the fretboard or rattle or buzz when adjusted lower, and the woods used may not give you the tones of another more reputable companies.
Upgrading parts may reveal that the Freeman is quite non standard, with screw holes in different spots, body cavities not the right size shape or depth for new items or a pickguard that was custom cut to fit this exact design (and no other).
It is a VERY cheap bass. The cheap ones very rarely will surprise or be later recognised as an undiscovered masterpiece.
They seem localised to the South American market, cannot find any English sites that will give me any further information sorry. All could find: https://www.audiomusica.com/catalogo/guitarras.html?manufacturer=188
It may prove enjoyable for a while, it may last you years. But when you upgrade to something else, you will most probably look back at the Freeman and wonder how you used it for so long.
But hey! You have a bass! Play bass and enjoy playing bass. Practice on it and learn all you can. Save some money while you use it and keep an eye out for that Rickenbacker or Epiphone you are saving for.
p.s. the EHX Bass Big Muff Nano is just as good (if not better) than the one you want, but is half the size.
Enjoy!

FENDER STROCASTER VS TELECASTER
I think it really comes down to a personal preference. I have played each of the styles you mentioned on strats, teles, jazzmasters, acoustics, les pauls, hollowbodies and a ukulele. Try not to let the guitar dictate or shape the type of music you play.

I always assumed you are a gear guy since you are not a muso...
Nope. I am the third one.

What gives an amp it's character?
Ambitious to say the least!
The question that springs to mind is why has this not been done before? Why have none of the amp giants built a dedicated unit that follows similar thought patterns? They have all tried their hands at amp modelling and nobody has been able to tie that down to a successful model.
There is a world of increased interest in the "bedroom volume" application, and the studio/ stage volume most certainly has more draw than the stadium volumes that we grew up with.
I can see that you have a firm grasp on the electronics side of the build. Having worked with electronics and technicians in the video game sector, reading this I became aware/ curious of how much heat something this diverse would generate. Even the sections that are running passive would be spilling off some warmth and the power draw feels like it would be asking for two power supplies.
There is another option that I will drop into the pot for consideration.
Why have we not seen an amp with a 4 x 12 cab bridged with a specifically designed selector box, that allows with a push of a button/ flick of a selector that allows the player to choose 1, 2, 3, or 4 speakers that automatically adjusts the amp impedence as well? Internally it connects to each of the four individual speakers and the section of the amp that controls the impedence (bypassing the dial/ switch on the back of the amp), allowing both the number of speakers and the impedence to be adjusted with a single switch... having the speaker selection and impedence selection wired together and matched into a part like a pickup selector switch on a guitar, so that you cannot accidentally switch one without the other.
Something like this would allow your amp to be bedroom, rehearsal, studio and stage keeping the integrity of your sound keeping you with an amp head you like giving you the tone you want.
In essence, you could market a 50w 4 x 12, that users could switch from 50w, to 37w, 25w, or 12w.
The real trick here is not to simply design the thing from the ground up, with a custom head and cab, but to design the Re-attenuator as a system that connects to an existing head and cab, so that people can buy and have the unit installed into their existing rig, (be it 4 or 2 speaker cabs) or comes as pre installed into a cabinet.
I may have just wasted thirty minutes typing the unattainable, but what is something attainable other than something that was previously out of reach?
Maybe think it over.

What gives an amp it's character?
an excerpt: My rig is Most Impressive. I am running an Ibanez Star Destroyer through some Wampa effects and Boss Nass pedals into two Wedge cabs. I was looking for a Power Converter because it was a little on the Dark Side. Then I decided to Slave 1 cab to the other. The pedals make the Darklighter and the sound is BIGGS! And I topped it all with a noise gate. Like a Thousand Voices Cry Out and were Suddenly Silenced. Better than your Pitiful Little Band....
