Can you create more than 1 list?

That is to list all the stuff you have. The developers are currently designing a sectional layout, but that is the "coming soon" bucket for now.

Have you had the chance to introduce yourself to the group yet? (The Hello thread in General Forums)

Either way, welcome aboard the board!

Identifying the gear

Seems our collective well was wrong anyway. Mike tweeted at me that it was actually a Dual-Tone Supro and gave a bit more info on it.

Did he confirm the Eastwood headstock and Hipshot tail piece?

Identifying the gear

If you posted it on here, you pretty much gave up on your searching.

You were unable to identify the item based on the best possible image you had to work with, with full knowledge of the artist and with that, some indication of timeframe.

Trying to find an answer should be the goal at this point.

This information would have probably gotten this answered sooner.

Asking for help based on hacked up pieces of the image???

wow.

But, we found it for you, based on pieces.

Glad we could help.

Bravo everyone!

I Write For The Site, Is There Any Articles You Guys Would Like To See

The History of the Tubescreamer was printed in Premier Guitar March 23, 2017, from an article written in 2011.

I have often thought that these forums needed a Tech Tips Corner or a How It Works section with Jim. His knowledge is otherworldly on quite a few things.

Bravo everyone!

The guitar was an Eastwood Guitars Airline Twin Tone with modifications.

I don't mind ID'ing stuff, and I wont steal your cool points.

Next time, a picture of the full guitar... not just bits... will get you a dedicated answer much sooner.

was primarily for using with NI Guitar rig. to give a bit of switchability so I can record complete tracks and have the effects be changeable, rather than 9 piece parts... that gets old, but it beats dragging all the gear out and micing amps etc.

Saw that one sold for $450AUD a couple years back. that is crazy prices.

Weird custom amp mod idea

a little off track. just had a Krank Nineteen80 Jr pop up on my radar. Hailed as their 25w take on a modded JCM800.... Is this maybe what I need to look at?

My life is googling shit. Sometimes I want to... outjack? lowjack? jackoff... no .. not that one. You know.. go off the grid. Maybe next year...

But good to know the standard version works... I am not a Gotta buy something to upgrade it kinda guy. if it does what it does, that is fine by me.

9yabout 9 years ago

$110 USD for the standard. And they look classy as fuck.

9yabout 9 years ago

BOSS MD-2

Sweet. Now, when I see them for sale, there is an upgrade chip.. a uno I think? is this a must have or just a thing?

listened to "Drown With The Monster" by White Lung. Not bad, reminiscent of DK's... pretty minimalist. Drummer is tight, bass player looks like the mum and is as sloppy as one. Guitarist hates his gear.

Fender silverface amp. Roland Jazz Chorus 120. Either turned on their sides or facing back of stage... there are issues here...

Fender Jaguar Special, gaffed neck pickup... later upgraded to normal jag. Had just a couple of pedals at first, expanded, got a board and runs a Behringer fcb1010 and a whole whack of pedals... check their live clips... any dirt comes from boxes, unless it is purely volume roll off, which I doubt from someone who gaffs pickups!

Terry, the big muff is NOT a fuzz, its an extreme distortion

That's why I wrote technically. It is not bright and crisp enough for me to classify it as a distortion. The Muff sits alone in it's own private genre... explaining why when Metal guys use a thousand pedals and OD guys have a million to choose from, must Muff guys will have such a uniquely identifiable sound.

How do you CREATE?

It is important to commit ideas to some medium on a regular basis. I have a lyrics box, which contains the scribbled on and hastily scrawled or heavily edited dockets, napkins and scraps of paper that will become my next big things, and I have a mic app, well... had... the app company folded! I would forever hum, or strum or sing stuff into it and call on it when I next found myself with guitar on and everything plugged in while I sat playing covers of songs from the radio.

The long and the short: You cant always be creative, so make sure to document when you are... for the times when you aren't and have the time to be.

I would have slept with my gear.

What were some guitars you played that disappointed you?

Well, this topic comes down to track records vs bad days. I have worked in music stores and played every instrument on the racks and the differences between two identical guitars can be staggering.

But to answer the OP: the ones I didn't buy.

I play based on feel and sound. If they don't meet what I am looking for, they go back. No one brand stands out, but there are incredible cheap unknown guitars out there, just as there are dogs in the top 5 guys stuff.

Your Musical Evolution

In grade 7 I overheard the general music teacher talking with my new specialist trumpet teacher while I was performing an assessment piece on a non instrument (the recorder). Trumpet asked her what did she think, and she replied that he (I) was completely tone deaf and would never play a note.

I cannot read or write music, which sucks, but I adapted and survived in the industry... neener neener to them!

A hint on how to reproduce an effect please

Sounds like I've got to fake it again...

9yabout 9 years ago

How do you CREATE?

I was supposed to build a new studio on my last uni break. Instead I had insurance folks in because an air con unit on an adjoining wall flooded the space....

Only had two small recording sessions and they were not the productivity I had planned or promised. Now back to swamped mode...

What about a boutique vs old masters series? one for pedals, guitars, basses, amps, mics... discussing what they are making gear with now and how they compare on the whole to what they were inspired by?

What is your stuff sounding similar to?

9yabout 9 years ago

BOSS MD-2

sounds ok actually. I realised that I want a distortion pedal again a while ago. I have technically got fuzz and overdrives currently, and have been thinking triple wreck, but haven't decided on anything yet. I watched a shootout between the MD2 and a behringer.... pretty close sounding ish

A hint on how to reproduce an effect please

Hi gang,

When I hear vocalists start singing (on recordings) and there is a reverb/ delay trail that occurs BEFORE they sing, Is that a dedicated effect, or is it something as simple as copying and pasting the opening words earlier in the bar before they sing, saturating in 100% wet effect and then deleting the original pasted word, just leaving the tail?

It is such a nice effect when done well. I would like to replicate.
