Good tone!

It is really solid practice tone. Little lacks brightness but actually can fight bigger solid state amps. Does not fizz at all. Clean can be set to little dirty so I love it with pedals. Also ok with looper in the front.

Using on PSU requires grounding. Boss says it is optional but in my opinion is that crackling noise will drive you nuts. There is dedicated place to connect it. You can connect line in with an grounded device turned off and will also work.

This really does what it should

I never used real straplocks but with this thing:

  • for free (if you like beer)

  • does the job (I don't do guitar swings but normal playing works fine)

  • no guitar modifications neccessary

Dark mid pushing drive

I like to use it as mild drive or stack it with distortion

I'm scared it can brake someday

I'm scared it can brake someday. I cannot imagine practicing without this. You can jam, you can record and listen yourself, you can test your gear with it. Simple but usable

It can sound great

This pedal can sound good. Not like tube amp -- it is not sensible goal. But after little roll of of volume on guitar can give these vintage rock sounds.

I didn't know I need it

I bought it because it was very cheap. I was shocked with new sounds I got from my overdrive pedal. The only thing i don't like is that there is no stop notch for neutral setting so you're never 100% sure it is at starting point .

After playing around it I now use it as volume gain/drop

teodozjan

Good and bad at the same time

The settings are very limited. It is not possible to get extremes especially with delay. But is great to realize whether you really want to have any of this effects.

The diode is blinding bright. And bypass seem to be ok.

I personally like flanger from it

Don't like

I don't like them. I prefer brighter strings

Review for people never had compressor before

At first don't believe people people telling this is fake. This is vintage compressor. It is very low everything, low ratio(I'm not sure it is constant), low speed, low output (unless you max sustain knob). Some people love this type of compression and similar boxes can be very expensive, but for beginners it is like wanting to buy cheese and getting feta cheese. Raising sustain adds also some blur to playing. side effect of being mild everything it has no noise on all settings. What I really don't understand setting sustain 3 o'clock and level 9 o'clock give less compression than setting level on 12.

Anyway it's interesting as always on compressor for silent playing. I placed pedal last in chain. It removed fizziness from my DS-1 without adding much noise.

The build is not the best. On off switch works very hard and loud.

Maybe good DI box

Maybe it is ok as DI box or amp sound changer but cabinet simulation is not studio quality. It is possible to set it quite good but it will still give some fuzz

It is great to have ground lift and XLR. XLR very silent but it is quite common for di boxes

flagellumdei

Thanks for your commens.

I just want to buy that product but I wonder its quality cause of you said "it is ok as di box". Can you compare with other boxes if you use some?

I need an amp simulator and a di box. Do you think it is eligable for both?

teodozjan

I don't have any other DI boxes to compare. I use it mainly as amp sim through jack out for playing on headphones through my amp that has no cab sim at all. Amp simulation is fine but cabinet sim is quite fizzy. I wonder whether it differs from TM300

Tweed model is the only that can be set clean without rolling volume knob on guitar all other all walls of overdrive

flagellumdei

TM300 and GDI21 are same as amp modeler, I guess. Thanks again.

Good sound but simple

It's really funny that effect has hidden knobs. Anyway for this price great. No noise and analog warm sound.

Knobs could have different characteristics. Do anyone use depth below half? Or need so much precision on low speeds while there is no on high?

teodozjan

What else do you want from tuner?

It has three color backlight (green in tune), some modes but I use chromatic only. I don't play in orchestra so fixed A pitch is not a problem for me. Anyway is electronic tuner socially acceptable when you play with orchestra?

teodozjan

Not versatile but good sound

There are very few sounds in this pedal. It is not possible to sound like multiple guitar players. It is not possible to get close to flangers. It sounds like most players would set it up anyway if had boss effect.

teodozjan

Not bad at all

Everything is cheap in this guitar. Even though it has vintage keys it stays in tune while using tremolo bridge. I'm not able to judge pickups but they are definitely more concentrated on output than frequency response. Knobs are fender smooth. Frets are ok but they wear easily. The nut is too high and action is not easy to set but after comparing it to price it is good guitar

Great for learning left hand muting

It is not very good for post rock ambiance but it is great for fast playing where using volume pedal is not usable. Left hand muting is critical to control this effect so it is great for learning

teodozjan

Good for price

I paid 80 EUR for this. It is not best amp ever, especially cabinet. Anyway has quite adjustable overdrive and very good clean sound. The vintage spring reverb is also nice thing.

The main con is headphone output. It is little noisy and have no cabinet sim(or very crappy one, I'm not sure about that).

Interesting pedal

This pedal is insanely hard to set up but give thousands of options. It sounds very similar to boss effect that buckethead uses. Buffer is not a problem for me because first effect in chain. It contains two effects in one physically. Overdrive is too dull and distortion is too sandy so mixing them sounds great especially on dirty channel set to almost clean. The OD/DS mode pot lets to set it accordingly to the amp tonal characteristics

I set it up in way that full guitar volume full it is both but when reducing it becomes little distortion and then to bright clean sound
