Incredibly well balanced
Really nice speaker with crisp highs and crunchy mids, well balanced and a good allrounder. Can provide sparkling cleans as well as warm overdrive tones what is without concern it's greatest strength.

Good compressor, questionable EQ
While I really liked the compression for it's somewhat airy tone enhancement I disliked the EQ as it either gets spiky in the highs or muffled in the lows, at least with my setup. In the end I just left it at 12 o'clock.

Never understood why this is the standard speaker for a Marshall 1960 cab
If you like an undefined mush with fluttering bass and at least questionable mid frequencies that did not complement a single head or guitar I tried it with then this is your speaker. The 1960 cab is a great construction so do it a favor and put a couple of other speakers in it!

Probably still Yamaha's best Pacifica
After quite a while I finally found a Pacifica 904 in good original condition and can now enjoy one of these rare instruments which is even for Yamaha's standards an outstanding guitar in terms of quality and craftmanship. Qualitatively a 904 was the zenith of the Pacifica series thanks to a chunky Warmoth-made neck, an incredibly resonant alder/ash top body and a rather unique pickup system with two parallel mounted bridge single coils. This guitar already sounds powerful unamplified and that impression continues when connected to an amplifier: Straight, powerful and enormously transparent with a lot of harmonics, just fantastic! Anyone who gets offered one of these tone monsters should consider buying it.

Really, really good delay
If you like the basic sound of a Deluxe Memory Man but always thought it was a little too washy, not articulate enough, this is your pedal. It is equally percussive and it let's you do all the arpeggio-like stuff the Memory Man is known for. The ES-3 scores with tap tempo, a switchable digital delay mode and a way better input impedance. It lacks the Memory Man's beautiful Modulation.

Solid, that's it
These cabs are well built and never let you down but if you really want them to shine a speaker swap is mandatory. The Celestion G12T75 has a proper midrange but that's it basically. The bottom end is too flubby, the highend is undefined.

Great, but hard to hear when played in a crowded mix
Devastating fuzz with a ton of bottom end and a range from edgy to really nasty distortion. The Octave options give you the versatility to create an endless amount of different sounds. Further on it has the problem quite a lot fuzzes have: If your mix gets crowdy it just disappears as a lot of mid frequencies are missing.

Warm and wooly
Classic fuzz tones with warm and wooly tone, lots of output and a switchable buffer so you can adapt it nicely to every position on your board. Really like it with the volume knob of a P90 rolled back and in front of a clean amp!

If you have a singlecoil in the neck position...you have to try this.
Fantastic. One of the very few drives that can keep up with an Okko Diablo in terms of dynamic and transparency, loves singlecoils!

The new trem on the block
Has the tonal quality and can as much do as the Diamond Tremolo does (to which I compared it to) but at the same time offers a lot more options to shape the effect.

Optical phaser providing lush yet transparent swirls - fantastic!
Quality optical phaser from Maxon with 18v operation giving you full and organic phaser sounds. Compared to the original PT-9 (also known from Ibanez) this one works on a much higher level tone wise.

Outstanding looper!
The Ditto X2 from TC Electronic offers high recording quality, has true bypass (!) when not in use and is far more noiseless than it's competitors. Additional features like the stop button and stereo functionality make it worth the extra costs.

Good delay
Really liked the Carbon Copy Deluxe but in comparison to a Deluxe Memory Man XO the modulation missed some depth and shimmer and the repeats start to distort rather quickly when choosing longer delay times. Features like a bright switch and tap tempo is great, as always MXRs build quality is magnificent.

Not a phase 90 with added features
Most people buying a Phase 100 are probably going the way trying to replace a lovely but limited Phase 90 because they wish to add some nice features like a width control etc. Most of them will then recognize that a Phase 100 is nothing like a Phase 90 soundwise (and also circuit-wise): It is kind of thinner, more open sounding, there is a volume drop when engaged but nevertheless the sound is great especially when playing fat sounding humbucker guitars. In the end it is a matter of taste but I really like it!

Great chorus
Find yourself trapped in hot chocolate sauce! Tried many, this is one of the best. Lacks the shimmery of a Small Clone but really widens the sound even in mono. Distorts quite easily so better mind your gain staging.

Exceptional!
The Diablo is an exceptional drive in every aspect. It is no clone of anything and there are only a few pedals which can be compared. Soundwise it is more on the edgy side with a lot of crunch and unbelievably dynamics. Once in a lifetime everyone should have played one, already a modern classic.

Not a Memory Man in every aspect
The 550-TT model is a Memory Man in case of it's basic characteristics and features but compared to the big box model and also the great XO model it lacks the lush and deep sounds of those units, in fact it sounds a lot more hifi. Tap tempo, expression and the effects loop are nice (for which I bought it actually) but senseless if you are losing the whole DMM vibe. Another annoying thing on the 550-TT is the use of a standard on/off-footswitch for the tap tempo instead of using a momentary switch.

The mighty OD-3
I played dozens and dozens of overdrive pedals from industry standard to boutique always looking for that sweet, crunchy and open tone in my head. And you know what? The OD-3 has it all: Fantastic clean to breakup tone, transparency while the bottom end stays intact, no fizz, no thin spots above the whole frequency range. It's just so good. What most people don't know and maybe that's also the reason why there are no clones available: The circuit is rather complex and it's just perfect as it is (this is not a TS, BB or somewhat type overdrive, it is in fact a one of a kind development by Boss). Let me close this review with the words: Why look so far afield when there is so much close at hand?

Decade-long workhorse for a reason
Transparent, gritty and punchy at the same time, an overdrive to stomp on and to end the search for tone. Beware, probably kicks your beloved 'boutique' pedal out of the studio.

Fantastic studio amp for maximal versatility
Two channels to use seperatly or combined, five amp models, five different power amps, a great emulated output (Headphones/DI-Line) with a ton of different cabinet/mic options (IRs can easily be imported) and incredible dynamics for a modeling amp put this amplifier in a row with the best solutions for (studio) guitarists in terms of technical versability and tonal options.
