Description
The 904 model featured a Warmoth produced neck with a compound radius, locking Sperzel machineheads, and a push-push tone control (like the 604W and 604V) that split the front dual single coil pickup into a single one. The Body was an ash slab top on an alder back and featured a highly engineered neck joint.

Probably still Yamaha's best Pacifica
After quite a while I finally found a Pacifica 904 in good original condition and can now enjoy one of these rare instruments which is even for Yamaha's standards an outstanding guitar in terms of quality and craftmanship. Qualitatively a 904 was the zenith of the Pacifica series thanks to a chunky Warmoth-made neck, an incredibly resonant alder/ash top body and a rather unique pickup system with two parallel mounted bridge single coils. This guitar already sounds powerful unamplified and that impression continues when connected to an amplifier: Straight, powerful and enormously transparent with a lot of harmonics, just fantastic! Anyone who gets offered one of these tone monsters should consider buying it.

The 904 is in no way comparable to a Squier Strat. This instruments rivals Fender's Professional and Ultra series.
