Founded in Battle Creek, Michigan in 1964, GHS is an American string manufacturer whose name derives from the surnames of its three founders: Gould, Holcomb, and Solko. The company produces strings for a wide range of instruments, including electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitars, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, and classical guitars. GHS is best known for its Boomers electric guitar strings — nickel-plated steel wound over a round core — and their bass counterpart, Bass Boomers, which debuted in 1975 and became one of the most widely used bass string lines in rock music. Other notable product lines include Nickel Rockers, which offer a warmer vintage tone, and Progressives, made from a filament-grade alloy.

GHS has long maintained a roster of prominent endorsing artists spanning multiple genres. David Gilmour of Pink Floyd has a signature string set with the company, and other notable players include Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme), Nate Mendel (Foo Fighters), Dan Donegan (Disturbed), Tommy Shaw and James "JY" Young (Styx), Béla Fleck, and Grace Potter. In 2000, GHS expanded beyond strings by acquiring guitar electronics company Rocktron. The company continues to manufacture all of its strings at its facility in Battle Creek.

GHS has 47 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Strings and Cleaning & Care. Their gear is featured by 88 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Pop, and Blues. Notable users include Flea, David Gilmour, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
