Critic Reviews

GHS Fast Fret Review - Waste of Money!

cigilovic.com

GHS Fast Fret is slammed for offering minimal value, likened to overpriced baby oil rather than an effective string cleaner. Claims of cleaning, sound brightening, and faster play are dismissed as misleading. Critics argue that the product's mineral oil base doesn't effectively clean or enhance playing but merely coats strings. The packaging allows leakage and drying out, exacerbating its poor value. Alternatives like essential oils and Dunlop Formula65 are recommended for genuine care and cleaning. Overall, Fast Fret is deemed not worth the investment, with the critic urging musicians to save their money for more effective options.

Ideal cleaner for stringed instruments.

I have used this product for years and probably always will. GHS string cleaner is best used before and after your jam sessions. It will help prolong the brightness of your strings and clean a lot of the sweat and gunk that is picked up off of your fingers/hands. It's comes with a lubricated stick and cloth. You run the stick across the strings and rub the cloth afterwards to clear away any excess oil. The lubrication will also help you play faster, if that's how your style. Great stuff.

Its fine

It is decent but dries out too fast. I use it mainly for its applicator; to apply my AxWax from Dr Duck.

A kind of oil than helps to keep the integrity of the strings. It also make the slides easier.

I used to get mild gangrene in my fret fingers from the relentless friction of playing this way, but I ended up discovering that Fast Fret, lemon oil, and changing string regularly helps to avoid the slow grinding down of my fingertips.
