One Control is a Japanese guitar effects and switcher brand founded by Kaz (Tomokaz) Kawamura and operated under LEP International. The company built its reputation as a leading manufacturer of guitar pedal switchers, offering products ranging from simple single-loop true-bypass units to complex multi-channel programmable switchers with MIDI capabilities. Notable in their switcher lineup is the combination of multi-power supply and loop switching into single units — such as the Iguana and Xenagama — designed to reduce pedalboard clutter for working musicians.
A major aspect of One Control's catalog is the BJF Series, a line of compact effects pedals designed by Björn Juhl (known by the initials BJF and for his boutique brand BJFE). Juhl's background includes designs for Mad Professor and Barefoot FX, and his collaboration with Kawamura brought his analog circuit designs to a wider audience through modern SMD manufacturing. The BJF Series includes overdrive, distortion, fuzz, boost, delay, and reverb pedals — each housed in small colored aluminum enclosures — with names like the Persian Green Screamer, Anodized Brown Distortion, Baltic Blue Fuzz, Granith Grey Booster, and Prussian Blue Reverb. One Control also produces a "BJFE In Your Hand" line that more closely approximates the original boutique BJFE handmade pedals.
Beyond the BJF collaboration, One Control has released artist signature models, including the Beth Reverb (developed with guitarist Tomo Fujita) and the TORNADO Drive (developed with TK of Japanese band Ling tosite sigure). The brand also makes amplifiers under the BJF-S series, power supplies, and a range of utility accessories.
One Control has 65 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Switch Effects Pedals, Overdrive Effects Pedals, and Bass Effects Pedals. Their gear is featured by 41 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Electronic, and Metal. Notable users include yuuho kitazawa, Toru Kitajima, and Bill Kelliher. Most One Control products fall in the mid-tier range — professional-grade without flagship pricing.
