At 1:18 into this Oliver Crosby studio tour video, he talks about getting his Yamaha DX100, inspired by Mac DeMarco:

First interesting piece of gear that I ever bought, the DX100. It's super broken right now. I used to be obsessed with Mac DeMarco and he has this video where he's rowing around in the little rowboat and playing his song on a DX100 and I think I was 12 or 13 and I begged for one of these for Christmas. That's how I got this guy and now I don't really use it anymore cuz I have the DX7. It's still really fun and it's kind of like I'm keeping it around more as a memory. Shout out Mac DeMarco. He's the goat.

Oliver Crosby talks about starting out on Apple GarageBand, before making the switch to Ableton:

And then from there into actual music production. When I was 12, I discovered this dude Andrew Huang on YouTube and started watching his music production videos. And at the time, I had messed around a little bit in GarageBand on my computer, but I saw him using Ableton and making these sick videos where he was sampling stuff. I was like, "This looks sick,” so I begged my dad to buy me Ableton, and the rest is kinda history.
