Pretty good beginner instrument. Replace the tuners, nut and pots. Also consider the Epi LP Standard used.
The pickups sound pretty good, and they look fantastic covered up. The tuners and stock nut aren't fantastic, I've already replaced the nut. The volume and tone knobs are pretty crap. As you turn it, pretty much nothing happens until it's at zero. Thinking of either upgrading those or replacing the guitar. Anyway, the neck feels pretty good. Kinda chunky for me, but this was my first guitar. I would say if you're thinking of purchasing, look on Reverb for an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. Used, it's about the same price as the Epi 100 new.

Great Beginner guitar or good for professionals if modified
This guitar is great for upper beginners after they've learned their first chords and want to move into jazz, blues or regular scales and other stuff. If modified with pickups, a great setup, locking tuners, bridge, etc. this guitar is smooth to play for a professional

I love it.
This is one of my favorite guitars to use at live shows. I own a black one that I bought off Guitar Center. About a month later, I found myself onstage with it at a local festival. with my band, I performed hits like "Sunshine of your Love", "Purple Haze", "Scarlet Begonias", and more.
great guitar for beginners to pro.
for starters, i bought this guitar for $160 second hand from a pawnbroker. it sounds great and the pickups bring out the true sustain of the guitar, it may look like a cheap beginners guitar but it feels, plays and sounds great.

First guitar love despite wiring issues and color preferences
This was my first guitar and despite some wiring issues, I love it. It's from the Indonesian factory which has made some really incredible Epiphones. I never liked the color, but I wouldn't dare trade it in because it just feels right.

My first full size guitar from 5th grade. i do not recommend it.
i got this used at guitar center for $189. this is a practice guitar and should not be used for gigging. the humbuckers are not clear at all and the fret job is not good. but hey what else do you expect from a $189 guitar?
