Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Boss BCB-30.

Build quality

  • The BCB-30 uses plastic nubs for the lid/base which may not be as durable as the metal hooks in earlier models like the BCB-3.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The BCB-30 is designed to fit precisely three Boss pedals, which can limit its flexibility compared to pedalboards with more customizable layouts.

    Source
  • The BCB-30 is noted for fitting three pedals, often used in combinations such as OD-3, DD-7, and RV-6 for a balanced tone palette.

    Source
  • The pedalboard can accommodate more than the standard three pedals by creatively positioning two additional mini-pedals in the corners.

    Source

Mods and upgrades

  • Some users modify the BCB-30 by carving away the plastic and adding Velcro to accommodate non-Boss pedals like a SansAmp and a tuner.

    Source
  • Some users fit up to eight mini pedals by tightly arranging them, though this may affect input/output jack health.

    Source
  • Owners sometimes use non-standard boosts like LS-2 line selectors or modded DS-1s as preamps for added versatility.

    Source
  • Cutting the case's plastic and applying Velcro enables accommodation of non-standard pedal sizes, enhancing versatility.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Older models like the BCB-6 lacked side openings, requiring the use of the Boss PSM-5 Power Supply, which occupied a pedal slot and was difficult to use.

    Source

    Source
  • The BCB-30 can support a variety of setups, such as TU-3 tuner, BD-2 blues driver, and FZ-2 hyper fuzz for versatile sound options.

    Source
  • A compact setup with JB-2 Angry Driver, DD-3 Digital Delay, and RV-6 Reverb covers essential overdrive, delay, and reverb needs for most genres.

    Source

    Source
  • Stacking the SD-1 and BD-2 allows for diverse sound options, from clean overdrive to intense distortion, suitable for various genres including blues and rock.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

Keeps it clean!

Fits 3 Boss pedals well, I even put an ibanez pedal in it (shhhhhh, dont tell Boss). Its nice to just unplus from each end and put the top cover on and stow or carry it away. The included cables are a perfect fit for between the pedals and the included power splitter lets you power all 3 pedals with 1 PSU.
