DTB-1 Free Speech Talk Box Review: If I lost this pedal I'd definatly but a new one,... | Danelectro | Guitar Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Danelectro DTB-1 Free Speech Talk Box is a mixed bag. While it boasts an easy setup and delivers the classic talk box sound reminiscent of Richie Sambora and Joe Walsh, it falls short in terms of build quality. Users have reported issues with the microphone connections, leading to crackling and malfunction. The battery compartment is also poorly designed, making changes cumbersome. Despite its affordability and unique self-contained operation, these flaws overshadow its benefits, making it a less reliable choice for serious musicians.

Decent.pedal if you don't know how much you want a talk box.

It's a very good pedal if you take the time to tweak it right The mic that is included is to try to introduce it to your chain which is a bad idea with no stereo out, because the signal is affected by the rest of your chain, still. However, hooking it up to a mic and a bass/keyboard/vocal system works awesome. You'll get feedback at higher gain/volume combos, however. All in all, not a bad pedal, but I'd prefer an MXR M222 or a Dunlop HT1.
